I really loved my time spent at DLA Piper! Three weeks provided the perfect amount of time to settle in and experience day-to-day life at the firm. The vacation scheme was interesting and varied and I felt that I was able to get a lot out of this experience. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
I had a great time on this vacation scheme at DLA Piper. The induction week in London was great and all the presentations and tasks gave me a variety of things to do. The two weeks in Sheffield were just as good as there were plenty of things organised after work and overall, this was a very enjoyable vacation scheme.
I really enjoyed this scheme at DLA Piper! My team were extremely friendly and welcoming, including me in as much as possible! Furtermore, there was a great deal of support available to vacation scheme participants. I was able to make the most of the tasks given to me because I felt comfortable asking for help and discussing tasks with my assigned scheme buddy. Overall, a very enjoyable vacation scheme at DLA Piper!
I have very much enjoyed my summer internship at DLA Piper. The internship was a perfect combination of interesting project work, networking and social events and skill workshops. It was designed to provide an insight into day to day life at DLA Piper and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere really shone through.
I really loved my time spent at DLA Piper! Three weeks was the perfect amount of time to gain a really thorough insight into the culture and working atmosphere at the firm. I had the opportunity to spend the first several days at the London office with all other 89 interns, followed by the reminder of the programme in the Manchester office, which was a great office to be based in!
Loved it - there were over 70 of us during the first week (induction) of the scheme which meant that we got to know individuals from all the 7 offices in the UK. The second two weeks we worked in our regional offices which was insightful as to what working at DLA as an actual trainee would be like.
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, we had a week in London and two weeks in Manchester (the local office you apply for). It has been the most structured and interesting internship that I have ever been on. There was a good deal of interaction between all 7 UK offices and so I have made friends from different cities now.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at DLA Piper. I felt that three weeks was just the right amount of time to gain a great insight into the culture and working atmosphere of the firm, and also to prove my capabilities and fit for DLA Piper. I spent the first four days in the London office with all other 89 interns and the remainder of my time at the Sheffield office (which I applied for). I found my time at the firm challenging but also very rewarding with many dinners out and social events to participate in.
I had a really enjoyable and enriching experience at DLA Piper. I feel lucky that I was part of it and at every stage I was impressed by the level of respect I was treated with, with the charisma of the existing employees and the focus on developing and nourishing people.
My placement was a brilliant insight into a career in commercial law. By allowing us the opportunity to spend time within two legal practice groups we gained a broader perspective of the firm. As well as an interesting variety of work, there were many social events through out the placement.
I thought the people on the scheme were great. Very competent and very easy to get along with. What I really liked was that DLA is clearly a firm that puts a lot of emphasis on employing nice, personable people. I also thought the scheme was organised very well. The induction week was particularly good considering they had to coordinate 89 of us.
Cannot thank the team at DLA enough for this opportunity. I've been involved in some truly fantastic, international work, which is extremely rare in Scotland, and it has helped me to decide on what I want to do with my career. Mostly I just can't wait to come back.
I really enjoyed the work that I was given, it was achievable but also made me feel like I was contributing something valuable to the team. The people were always approachable and even if I needed help or they were busy they never made me feel like I was intruding or a nuisance.
A range of speakers, activities, work and social events made the time at DLA varied and usually interesting. The work was a bit of a highlight; as a non-law student, I didn't expect to be asked to participate in the legal process in any real sense, yet I was asked to draft documents and security reviews for internal use.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship with DLA Piper. Throughout the process, the firm has reiterated how friendly and welcoming its people are, and it has been very encouraging to experience this in reality. The internship perfectly combines a mixture of networking and social events, with a variety orf work and tasks across two departments. It is well designed to give you a true picture of the firm as a whole, and a realistic impression of the regional office that you work within.
