Working in a team of helpful and experienced sellers provided me with an enriching experience with multiple opportunities to learn and take on client-facing roles. IBM's structure of having 100+ interns working in collaboration with each other made the placement enjoyable from a social aspect also.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year with IBM, working on the Nationwide client site allowed me to interact with a diverse range of people and build close relationships with these individuals. This strengthened my team working skills as well as communication skills and I would highly recommend a placement year.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at IBM, as I gained skills and an experience than you simply cannot learn through your studies. I was able to apply what I learnt at University into the real world and with the great support IBM provides, I was able to explore many different areas and opportunities.
Though my placement experience was mixed to begin with, by the end of the year I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and I will look back on it fondly. I enjoyed working within Marketing as everyone was friendly and helpful and the placement scheme that IBM offer ensured there were lots of other interns to connect with.
Extremely enjoyed it, has provided vital experience to myself and opened up graduate opportunities within this organisation after university. Came into the placement not knowing where I would like to go, leaving with a path to hopefully reach and take.
I really enjoyed working at IBM during my placement year. My team was incredible, the culture within the company was more than welcoming and I learned many new things. I actually came from a non-technical background but was self learning technology. Both my manager's and my coworkers showed trust on my willingness to learn and supported me along the way. It was the most rewarding experience working at IBM for my placement and now I am already applying back, aiming for a career in Cyber Security.
I had a great year with so many exciting opportunities. My team were fabulous and it was great to work in such a dynamic and fun environment. My role was varied and even gave me the opportunity to travel to Bali, Indonesia for one of IBM's biggest events of the year.
I had a really good years experience whilst doing my work placement with IBM. I have has the privilege of working in a client facing role with in an integrated team of professionals from all brands of IBM which has given me a thorough insights into the functionings of a huge MNC.
Overall I really enjoyed my placement experience at IBM. It was a good insight into a large corporate global business. I learnt lots of new skills and knowledge. Because the business is so big you have access to lots of different roles and areas of business. I would definitely recommend a placement here.
Initially, I felt the learning curve was huge. I had no handover and was more or less left to find and learn work. Having done that, I felt a huge sense of responsibility in my work which opened up opportunities elsewhere in the business. The amount of exposure and opportunities you're encouraged to do are countless.
My Placement with IBM has been a whirlwind. I study Mathematics at University, and came into a role where I have barely used the methods I was learning day to day last year. Some may think that's wrong, but in reality I'm using every skill I've learnt while studying Mathematics, just in a different way. I'm still problem solving, but not a Mathmatical equation. Of course there have been downs as well as ups, and if I could tell myself one things this time 11 months ago, it would be to persevere. It does get better and you do learn to fit in.
I really enjoyed my placement at IBM, and it has well prepared me for working in a professional environment going forward. The scheme is well set up to provide balance between your daily role with the opportunity to do 'giveback'. There is also the chance to explore other roles and find out jobs that suit you best and that you enjoy. In my role I enjoyed the level of responsibility given to me and client interaction that I was able to experience.
I enjoyed my placement reasonably well. As with all things, how I felt about the placement fluctuated in relation to what was currently occurring - it was filled with great highs and equally some lows. I found the work I was completing to be both meaningful and its challenging nature pushed me to my limits - something I enjoyed greatly. On the other hand, the more administrative functions can take a toll at times.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at IBM iX in Southbank, London. It was a fantastic experience as I was able to develop many of my skills, and given the opportunity to work with many clients, meeting new great people along the way. The work culture in iX is fantastic and would recommend.
