I am a Mobile and Web Application developer. Most of my job was developing applications in different languages with different technologies. This didn't feel like a job but more of a hobby. I had a great team who made the job even more enjoyable even when the work became stressful at times.
The last 12 months have been incredible. At no point did I feel like an "intern" and I was given real work and a lot of responsibility. At times I was given the opportunity to lead projects, this was something I had never imagined to be a part of my internship.
Wow, what a year it has been!! I’ve got under one month left of my internship as a full stack software developer at IBM, London, CIO Studio and it truly has been so impactful so my self development both professionally and personally. The skills that I have gained over this past year are no match to what I learn at university and the team I am in are like family. I could barely call this an internship, as this really isn’t. This is an experience of the real world. Real work, real world problems, real team. I never felt like ‘just an intern’.
I enjoyed working in IBM. The placement scheme is very fulfilling as you are given the opportunity to participate in many different activities outside of your day to day role. I worked with many senior consultants and also graduates, making a good mixture of people around me. Working in a client account was an unbelievable experience.
I enjoyed working with IBM for a year. There were some downsides, like lack of social contact (my office was suburban), or repetitive role, but mostly I had ample time to improve my skills and IBM is one of the few companies that provide an insanely wide array of tools of opportunities.
I enjoyed my time at IBM in GBS, where I was challenged and felt valued for my work. I believe that the foundation scheme is well organised, making it an unforgettable experience. I mainly enjoyed my role as I got to work alongside the leadership team and learn from the best.
I have enjoyed my placement a lot, it was more than I expected when I first started it. I am grateful that I had this opportunity to work for IBM in SouthBank, London. Everything was great and I have enjoyed every single day of it ! IBM - Best start in your career
loved my placement at IBM from start to finish. I worked in Procurement – an area which I did not have much knowledge of before, however I fitted in well. I was given the opportunity to get involved in so many different projects and tasks which made my year exciting. Of course there were hard days and times where things got a bit stressful, however the positive days definitely outweigh those times! I am sad to be leaving IBM and am grateful for all the experience I have gained throughout the year!
I throughly enjoyed my placement year at IBM. I felt extremely welcome and part of the team from day one, with my task manager helping me in any way she could, she was integral to the success of my placement. We worked in a great office in a fantastic, central location in London meaning there was lots of post-work activities we could enjoy easily too.
With a limited handover period the start was a struggle, however I grew to enjoy the responsilbility I was given. I enjoyed the team environment and felt supported by the management team. The opportunities that are available to you are endless if you put yourself out there, and I relished this.
I really enjoyed my time working as an intern for IBM. I was always made to feel welcome and felt comfortable in asking for assistance, when required. My time at IBM has enabled me to further develop my skills and improved my confidence, with regards to public speaking. Overall an extremely beneficial and memorable experience.
Throughout my placement I was given really great opportunities to develop myself and network across the business. In addition, at all levels of the business, the people I met were extremely welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic which helped me to settle into the world of work.
