About Amec Foster Wheeler

Amec Foster Wheeler designs, delivers and maintains strategic and complex assets for its customers across the global energy and related sectors.

With over 40,000 people in more than 50 countries, the company operates across the whole of the oil and gas industry – from production through to refining, processing and distribution of derivative products – and in the mining, clean energy, power generation, pharma, environment and infrastructure markets.

Amec Foster Wheeler shares are publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange and its American Depositary Shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Both trade under the ticker AMFW.

Amec Foster Wheeler recruits over 100 graduates per year within our Environment & Infrastructure (E&I), Clean Energy, Transmission and Distribution (T&D) and Oil & Gas (O&G) markets. There are a wide range of technical and non-technical opportunities available across all four areas.

We offer a variety of accredited programmes, each recognised by the appropriate professional institution or qualifying body. As a graduate you will be enrolled on the appropriate programme depending on your discipline/function. Each programme is focused on providing the environment for you to gain the skills and competencies needed for your professional registration or to support you in gaining a recognised qualification.

We are also committed to giving back to the community, and our graduates are positively encouraged to support our corporate social responsibility initiatives, be it becoming a STEM ambassador, educating students about STEM careers or raising money for our nominated charities.

Whatever project or business area you join you will be adding real value not only to your project, team and client, but to the organisation by helping us one step at time to build our future capabilities.

With a range of technical and non-technical opportunities available across the different areas of our business, there are a variety of roles available to suit you. For all our roles, we require students to have a strong academic background. Our selection process is about what you can bring to Amec Foster Wheeler and we see your education as a fundamental part of your journey and consider everything from work experience, extracurricular activities and what skills you have gained on this journey.

For all our roles, we require students to have a strong academic background, but we don’t stipulate how many UCAS points you need.

Whether you are in your first or last year of study and are applying to our Spring or Graduate Programmes we request that you are on track for or have achieved:

  • A minimum 2:1 classification from the relevant degree discipline for applications to Science and Environment or Business
  • A minimum of 2:1 classification at Masters/MEng level from the relevant degree discipline for applications to Engineering (we will accept applications from Hons level where we have the appropriate role available)
  • If you have any extenuating circumstances that may have affected your results we would still very much like to hear from you and will review your application on a case by case basis
  • Please note that for the majority of our engineering roles you will need to have studied an accredited degree by the engineering council. Check if your degree is accredited
