I had a very fun time during the Vacation Scheme. The Graduate Recruitment team at Linklaters is extremely efficient and kind. They plan quite a few events (socials) during and after office hours for Vac Schemers to interact with one another and with the people at the firm. To enjoy the opportunity to the fullest, I would recommend being as open and welcoming to meeting new people and learning from their stories as possible.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the other international clerks and speaking with all the lawyers in the two departments that I sat with. It was a great balance of work, information sessions and socials. I really enjoyed my time and would recommend my Australian peers to apply for this program.
I completed the 4 week International Clerkship and had a great time! We were placed in two seats so had a great opportunity to get to know a wide range of people at the firm. There were heaps of social events planned which were realy fun and provided an opportinuty to get to know the other people on the scheme better.
The vac scheme was hugley enjoyable. There were a lots of interesting talks and sessions on the different practices and how a deal works. My principal was very friendly and helpful and made me feel really welcome. It is a big scheme with lots of other interns and there are a lot of social events so you really get to know people and make friends.
I had a wonderful experience in the Vacation Scheme. The people at the firm are extremely friendly and supportive, and ensure you have a good time. The socials were fun, and the work was very interesting. Overall, I had one of the best internship experiences at Linklaters and will always value it.
I felt like the scheme was quite enjoyable. There were a number of talks from practice groups and socials to give us a full picture of the firm. They also engaged our intellectual sides through projects and client pitches. Overall, the scheme really gave an accurate picture of what it would be like to work at the firm.
I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to gain an insight into the culture of the firm. I had the chance to undertake typical trainee tasks, providing a unique window into the type of work I would be undertaking in a career at the firm. I was also given the unique opportunity to be engaged in a client development project. This allowed me to gain an increased appreciation of a law firm as a business. This insight will be highly beneficial in my future career development and was of great benefit in a recent interview.
The scheme was truly fantastic - I made lifelong friends, was able to participate in insightful and cutting edge work and met some of the brilliant colleagues at the firm. There was a great range of social events, assigned pieces of work and opportunities to meet lawyers in different teams. Assessments over the two weeks were quite non-intrusive.
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Linklaters. I both furthered my understanding of corporate law in a setting beyond theoretical but also made mentors with whom I am still in touch with today. I found the work I undertook to be a reflection of the work trainees would regularly undertake; providing me with an accurate account of the life of a trainee at Linklaters.
