The internship was very enjoyable, and involved writing a total of four detailed investment theses over 8 weeks. It was very individualistic however there was always someone you could easily go ask if you needed help, or had any questions of both theoretical and practical nature.
It is a very enjoyable experience. The help is extensive and you really feel like you are part of the team right from the very beginning. The socials are a good way of talking and getting to know other interns and managers while the training really helps with the understanding of the business.
I worked within Fidelity's pensions operations. I didn't know anything about Pensions before joining so there was a lot to learn and fast, but within the role their was a lot of autonomy and trust in order to take my projects in the direction I felt they should go in, which I really enjoyed. My team was a pleasure to work with and we arranged time out of work to go for drinks/meals etc. There were also a number of events organised by the campus recruitment team which were very enjoyable. It was a great internship in many aspects.
Overall it was an excellent and rewarding experience where I felt valued and challenged throughout the ten weeks. The internship is the perfect introduction to working at Fidelity because you get to meet the people you could potentially be working with and find out if your skillsets match those required for the profession. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a career in asset management or any type of financial firm to apply.
Really enjoyed getting to know more about the financial industry and how all the departments and desks in Fidelity fit together. It was great to spend so much time with the other interns through activities, training and lunch and learns. The lunch and learns were also a really good way of getting to understand all the departments in the company.
I enjoyed my time here. I felt it was a great introduction into what life is like actually working here. The work is challenging and mentally stimulating. People here are on the whole very friendly and willing to help you out with work. I also appreciated how the internship had a definite structure.
The internship has been enjoyable- the work is interesting and everybody at Fidelity has been hugely welcoming and supportive. I have been in a group of 8 interns all doing the same programme which has been really great- it has meant we can discuss ideas together and it has been a very supportive environment.
