The insight scheme was very enjoyable. Several interesting talks were given by a range of individuals working both in the firm and from external stakeholders. The firm has made a great effort at engaging with students and paired us all up with trainees who were able to give us a better insight into work at the firm.
I enjoyed the A&O First program greatly. It was an excellent opportunity to see the firm, talk to lawyers, and find out more about the world of commercial law. There were a diverse and meaningful range of activities throughout the program to keep me engaged. Those activities also helped me develop skills like teamwork and resilience.
I really enjoyed the insight scheme. I found it to be an informative experience that explained the firm's ethos and the wok of a corporate law firm well. I particularly enjoyed the drafting skills session, the negotiation task, and the socialising.
I found A&O First incredibly enjoyable. The preparation that went into organising the interesting and informative talks and sessions really made the scheme a really engaging and fun experience. The use of group activities also removed the awkwardness of meeting new people, and by the end, there was a really fluid and pleasant atmosphere, which really bolstered the enjoyment I was able to have.
I really enjoyed the insight, it provided an in-depth overview of the firm through presentations and work-shadowing. There was lots of workshops to improve soft skills and interview technique as well as application tips which were very useful. There was also plenty of opportunities to ask the graduate Rec team questions which was a good opportunity to ask individual questions.
I had a great time at A&O - I felt that the grad recruitment team put in a lot of effor, and everything ran very smoothly indeed. We were never left twiddling our thumbs, and the activities were engaging and insightful. I would recommend to anyone thinking of a career in commercial law, especially at A&O. My only wish would be that it had been longer!
I very much enjoyed my time at Allen and Overy. Having participated in like schemes at other Law firms, my experience at Allen and Overy was very different. The atmosphere was one that was extremely friendly and supportive, and it was obvious the firm and graduate recruitment had gone to great lengths to ensure the scheme was both enjoyable and a worthwhile experience.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I thoroughly enjoyed the vac scheme at A&O. Before coming, I thought that the experience at such a high calibre firm would be really competitive and quite stressful. My actual experience has been the complete opposite; I've felt relaxed and able to genuinely be myself for the whole scheme which helped me to really enjoy it.
I really enjoyed the insight and would rate the experience a 10. The insight was extremely helpful and enabled you to understand a bit about the firm, its work culture, what expectations it has from its employees as well as what the different practice areas are and the kind of work you may expect in those areas.
The 2 weeks have been amazing. From the Grad Rec team to the team I have been sitting with for the past 2 weeks, everyone has been extremely friendly and approachable. I have learnt a lot and have great insights into the type of work a trainee would do in the team I was sitting in.
I had a fantastic experience on my two week vacation scheme at Allen & Overy. It served as a great introduction to the firm and its people, and I found that everyone was very interesting and had a lot to talk about (both the vacation scheme students and A&O people).
I had a really fantastic experience during the two weeks of my insight at Allen & Overy. From start to finish I felt really engaged, both professionally and academically, and I felt welcomed into the firm and valued as a member of the team. Similarly, the work was challenging but not too challenging - it was wide-ranging, and pitched at just the right level to stretch you without making you feel out of your depth.
Highly enjoyable two days. It was packed full of useful / interesting / fun events and games, with a lot of focus on the intern's getting to know one another and other members of the firm. I particularly enjoyed the team building games and of course we were put up in a very smart hotel.
I really enjoyed the vacation scheme. The social events were fun and the work was interesting. My supervisor would seek to give me useful and constructive feedback and the department that I was in was really friendly.
