When I first got the job, I was excited about working for a company like GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). I was based at the main office in Brentford. It's a very nice environment and a nice place to work. I enjoyed getting paid monthly and earning money, meeting different people, trying something new. Unfortunately, the job was completely different than what was advertised and also what they described during the interview and on the induction day. It was mentally and emotionally challenging to have to come to work every single day and have virtually nothing to do. I raised several complaints, even got HR to help (at no avail). I had weekly, then monthly meetings with my supervisor and managers which usually ended in empty promises. I even contacted members of different teams to request any type of work.
I have enjoyed all aspects of the placement and especially the high level of responsibility that it involves. I have particularly enjoyed working with the three work streams involved: Organisational Development, Continuous Improvement and Project Management. Being involved in the project from it's beginning has enabled me to whitness it's evolution and been a great learning experience. Moreover, I always enjoy the more active aspects of the role, including setting up for workshops either on or off site. The building I work in is amazing and the culture of the company makes you feel welcome and happy.
