Day one focuses on getting to know J.P. Morgan through deep dives into our teams and their work, panel sessions exploring the daily work of analysts and associates and interactive Q&A. There was a welcome with a senior employee along with a skills masterclass hosted by DebateMate. There was also an ‘Understanding the Price of Money’ workshop and an investment banking overview. Day two included a spotlight on the different areas in the business you could join helping you choose the path that is best for you through networking. As well as a markets overview followed by Q&A and a networking session. There was a 'Philanthropy, Sustainability & Environmental Risk' Overview followed by an interactive case study activity. Lastly, there was an Investment Banking Interactive Case Study Exercise followed by an Investment Banking Networking session. Day three included a Credit Risk & Market Risk Overview, Asset Management Overview, Asset Class Speed Networking (Asset Management), Wealth Management Overview, Wealth Management Interactive Case Study Exercise, Corporate Panel, and Senior Networking. Day four started with a Wholesale Payments & GCB Panel followed by an interactive group Wholesale Payments Task. The day ended with an insight into The Future of J.P. Morgan, CV Skills Session and Demystifying the Recruitment Process.

The insight program revolved around shuffling between the departments of the JP Morgan's London branch. We heard from analysts, associates, senior members of different division from asset and wealth management to investment banking and markets and got plenty of opportunities to network as well. After a general overview of the divisions we would then be divided into breakout rooms to practice real-life cases and get an insight into what their daily tasks looked like.
Each day there would be some form of interactive case study relevant to one of the divisions at the bank after a detailed overview of the division. In addition to these interactive tasks done in breakout rooms, there were networking sessions with members of each division of the firm. At the end of the week, there was an insightful session on the recruitment cycle for summer internships.
Attended panel presentations providing an overview of JP Morgan and its various divisions. Participated in group case studies regarding investment banking, wealth management and wholesale payments. Also participated in group exercises such as a sales pitch and a market risk game.
On the programme we were provided with market and financial product training provided by AMT Training for the first couple of days. These classes were there to cement our understanding of Markets, financial terminology and financial products. On the first day we also were provided with a DebateMate session to help improve our communication skills throughout the spring week. There were also various insight talks exposing interns to the different divisions at JPM as well as plenty interactive case studies and networking opportunities to get involved in. There was also plenty of time for Q&A’s at the end of talks and during the networking sessions.
Every day started at 9:30AM and usually began with a speech from a senior executive, then we would have more technology specific sessions about topics like cyber-security. There would be breaks in-between where we would work on assigned programming tasks.
During the course of five days, you'll find out what it's like to work in our Technology business and hear first-hand about the responsibilities and work days of everyone from Analysts to Managing Directors. You'll discover just how deep our commitment is to our communities and employees, and how we're constantly innovating to meet their needs. You’ll take part in presentations on topics such as Cyber Security and User Experience, network with our business and meet analysts who were once in your position during hands-on, fun technology challenges. You’ll also take part in an interactive group challenge designed to replicate the work you will do as a J.P. Morgan technologist.
The J.P. Morgan Early Insight into Technology was an opportunity to virtually engage with the inspiring people, participate online in skills building and interactive sessions and learn about their businesses. A comprehensive plan for each day was provided, along with extra material to review before the event. There were coding challenges provided throughout the days, and their was a mixture of workshops, talks and practical exercise to provide for a great experience despite of the pandemic meaning that the week was held virtually.
There were daily talks from engineers and executives about the company's various lines of business, several technology related workshops (Cyber Security, UX design, Agile), and many opportunities to network with current employees, such as SEPs working in different departments, VPs, MDs etc., and hear their experiences and journeys. Alongside this, there were some coding challenges in Python and Java to be completed by the end of the week, with resources and help always available, a short DSA test and an engaging general knowledge quiz. Short videos of our review of each task were required as well. On top of this, there was an optional cyber security tournament taking place throughout the event.
Talks from people daily about their roles, how they got into technology, and what it is like working at JP Morgan. Had 3 coding projects to complete over the week and submit. Talks on next steps, writing CVs, and future opportunities. Heard from everyone from directors to new graduates across the company.
