I only enjoyed the first day, after this I did not return. Previously, I had already done a week here at a younger age and earlier on in my academic journey. Upon returning, older and more experienced, I thought I could be more hands on. I was wrong. To summarize my individual placement, there was evidently no plan for the week. It appeared everything was 'off the cuff' and even the Line Manager was lost at times as to what to do with me.
The week I spent here was very enjoyable, giving me a good insight into each aspect of the company and how the different teams work together. All the staff were extremely welcoming and were more than willing to take time to explain what they were doing and their roles within the team as well as answering any questions I had. I was involved within a small but friendly team which made the experience engaging, interesting and highly rewarding.
I enjoyed my placement year a lot and I'm extremely thankful I did it. It has been by far the most productive and developed year of my life. The enjoyment was furthered through the people I worked with day-to-day in my team. I formed really good relationships with a lot of different colleagues, so it made coming to work every day much easier, knowing that I would be sat with people who I could be myself around and have a good laugh with...whilst being productive of course. I'll be honest, before I began the role I wasn't too aware of my exact responsibilities or what healthcare marketing was all about. But it turned out to be such a unique experience and I don't regret anything. I wanted to explore a different industry to find out what my job interests truly were and working at Baxter fulfilled this . The only thing I'd change would be the location. I lived in a house share in Reading and there isn't much promotion of living with other student placements as you don't know them beforehand. Therefore, social life was quite dim as I didn't know many people in the area.
My placement year at Baxter Healthcare was the best 12 months of my life. Every morning I would wake up and be excited and motivated to go into the office. Everyone in the organization appreciates the hard work that you as a student delivers. For me, the most enjoyable aspect of working for Baxter were the amazing people and organizational culture. It was also the feeling of making a positive difference to society. Due to the nature of the industry and line of work we are in, the feeling of playing a small part in the puzzle which in turn saves and sustains patient lives is magical.
Baxter was a great company to work, I found everyone I came into contact with extremely friendly and approachable. I bonded really well with my team which made my role very enjoyable. They have great corporate values and there is a real emphasis on work life balance. I learned so much during my time with Baxter and would definitely consider going into the healthcare sector in the future.
The placement was very enjoyable. The jobs I was assigned and especially the people I worked with made the year exciting and informative. I also got opportunities to travel across the country and even the EU with this job. After doing a placement at Baxter I now know what I want to do after university and am planning on applying for the graduate scheme.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Baxter as a Marketing Executive. My team were really supportive and the company culture on the whole was extremely positive. It is evident they care about retaining and developing young talent.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Baxter and would recommend it to anyone trying to apply for one. The culture is so friendly and supportive and everyone is trying to help you succeed. When I've needed help it has been given to me and they are always so understanding.
The Placement scheme in Baxter was amazing. I haven't expected to learn sooo much during 12 months of the placement! I would say that the best way to describe my placement experience is to say that I fully dived into the corporate world full of exciting projects, critical and last minute changes that I had to learn to overcome and amazing people that I worked with.
My time at Baxter has exceeded my expectations of placement in every way. The opportunities on offer to allow me to develop in my role has been over and beyond what I could have imagined a student would be offered on placement. It was clear from day one that Baxter Healthcare genuinely care about the development and experience of their placement students and this is testament to the knowledge and experience that I gained from my experience with the company in a relatively small amount of time.
I have become an integrated member of my team with my own responsibly which gives me a real sense of purpose. The office has a really friendly environment which has helped make my time at Baxter even more enjoyable.
For the majority of my time on placement with Baxter, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I was given a lot of responsibility which meant I was able to develop significantly throughout the year. Due to the nature of the role, I was also able to work with a wide variety of different teams across the business which was very interesting.
My time at Baxter from the word go was a amazing adventure and one that I will truly never forget. I have learned a wide range of skills that will no doubt help me in future job prospects. I have done and learned things that I can not just apply to IT industry but that can help me with everyday home activities. I have grown as a person and increased my confidence.
I had a fantastic time on placement with Baxter Healthcare. The opportunities given to their placement students are extremely beneficial. From training and development to exploring areas of the business you didn't think you'd see in your job role... All you had to do was ask and you were often able to take such opportunities.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with Baxter and would highly recommend it to prospective marketers. My experience was incredibly rewarding and I believe I’m going back to university better equipped for my final year.
I worked for the Hospital Products Division within Baxter. I loved working for many different departments and exploring their objectives and goals. I enjoyed working for the marketing department as I was given a lot of independence and responsibility on various projects throughout the year.
