I really enjoyed my placement, the team that I worked in was very welcoming and was always willing to lend a hand if I needed it. The variety of work that I completed and help with was really great, as it meant that throughout the placement I was always kept on my toes and learnt new things.
Mixed feelings. Great side projects. I, personally, did not like my role as it was too analytical and 'number' focused. However, it is a great job for people passionate about it. COVID-19 messed everything a little around and the work environment changed drastically as working from home and not being able to spend time with work colleagues.
I found that it was an exceedingly engaging and enjoyable experience working within trading, the work was complex, interesting and unique as it is a business function you are not likely to find outside the industry. The office too had a great feeling about it, a more casual office but one where you really feel that people are trying to get the best results. It is a place that I enjoyed going to everyday.
I found my placement year at TUI extremely enjoyable. My role was both fun and challenging, and I was able to gain real experience which will come of use during my final year at university. Right from the start I was made to feel welcome from those around the business, and was continuously supported throughout the year. The support network at TUI is extensive so I knew I always had someone to talk to if there were any issues, I was able to have regular catch ups with my manager, the L&D team, mentors and a buddy.
Overall I really enjoyed my placement at TUI. I enjoyed the variety of the workload and the level of responsibility we were given. There was a good balance between placement work and our individual roles. Our training was intense but well organised and everyone was incredibly supportive. I learnt a great range of skills that will be useful for my final year and future career. It’s a shame the pandemic changed some of our plans but I would definitely recommend the placement to any student looking to apply.
I loved how welcoming and friendly the office was from the get go. I really enjoyed having a 11 other placements to experience the year with, even though all our roles were different I think that's what made the dynamic of the group so interesting and fun! I learned so much more than I thought throughout the year, got a lot more experience than I expected and all my colleagues and managers were more than happy to help out with any questions I had. There is a real sense of community at TUI and everyone looks out for you.
Although my work placement was cut short due to the pandemic, I still enjoyed 7 months working at TUI. It was a valuable experience that enabled me to understand what goes on behind the scenes of a global organisation. The placement team really try to help and support you along the way by arranging monthly placement meetings and socials which really helps you settle in. I loved being a part of the placement team and loved my job role.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at TUI. The role was something completely different than I could have expected, but I enjoyed going to work every day as there was always something different and new to work on. The office, despite being in Luton, is relaxed yet professional, which created a really good atmosphere while being at work. The amount of responsibility given from the start really showed just how much trust the teams put into the placement students.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at TUI. My placement was a job where I looked forward to going to work which is really satisfying. The office culture was relaxed, yet professional, and the people were really welcoming. I never thought I would go into my placement year with so much responsibility and be taking so much more than anticipated away from it. Working at TUI really showed what a placement year is all about and helped me discover the type of job I'd like to do going forward.
I've thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at TUI, it has definitely exceeded my expectations. I've found it extremely valuable to work within the highly competitive & ever-changing travel industry, and working for the Market Leader has definitely enhanced this. TUI is such a fun company to work for, with a great social scene too!
I really enjoyed my placement as I was given lots of opportunities to see all areas of the business and go on international trips just like any full-time employee. This has given me a holistic view of a tour operator business and a lot of experience to take back to university and inform my future career choices!
I really enjoyed my placement year at TUI. It was great to get an insight into such an interesting business with so many aspects and departments that could be explored. We were not only given lots of responsibility in our own roles but encouraged and given the opportunity to explore the wider areas of the business too.
I had a great time at TUI and did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The work can be difficult and there can be lots of it, but that's what makes it so good as you are pushed to enhance and develop a wide variety of skills.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at TUI and would highly recommend the placement to any prospective students who want to get commercial business experience in a large international organisation. I had a high level of responsibility, took advantage of numerous development opportunities and was also able to go abroad three times as part of the scheme.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at TUI. I am treated the same as all other colleagues despite being on the scheme which means I get a lot of responsibility and opportunities I would never have otherwise been exposed to. The office environment is very relaxed and the team I work in are all so friendly and helpful which makes work really enjoyable.
I really enjoyed it. I've never done this sort of role before or worked for such a large company, but it exceeded all my expectations. I enjoyed my year the most out of all my friends who completed industrial placements - which speaks volumes.
