St Leger Homes is an award winning company which provides excellent housing services across Doncaster in the social and private sectors. We work in partnership with Doncaster Council, our customers and other agencies, providing homes in neighbourhoods that people are proud to live in.
We are an Arm’s Length Management Organisation, or 'ALMO', created by Doncaster Council in 2005. With the support of the government, we have delivered our decent homes programme, the most significant upgrade ever to council homes in Doncaster. The £300 million scheme involved internal and exterior improvements to thousands of properties, and was completed in 2015 ensuring as many as possible of the homes we manage meet the Decent Homes Standard.
The Government have awarded their Customer Service Excellence accreditation to St Leger Homes for eleven years in a row – and we have achieved the 5 star British Safety Council accreditation for nine years running, as well as ISO45001 accreditation, the European standard for health and safety, We also run employment and education opportunities for tenants through our World of Work academy and our local apprentice placements.
We manage the council's entire housing stock along with some other assets and are wholly owned by Doncaster Council. We secured reaccreditation in the Government’s Customer Service Excellence scheme for the eleventh consecutive year. This reaccreditation recognises the excellent standard of customer service that we provide for our tenants.
The Customer Service Excellence Assessor said, “St Leger Homes is a customer focused organisation, providing excellent customer service, with a high level of customer satisfaction. St Leger Homes is to be congratulated for maintaining accreditation to the Customer Service Excellence Standard for eleven years, which is an excellent achievement.
We achieved the SHIFT Gold accreditation for the second year running for the commitment we have shown in reducing the environmental impact of council housing across Doncaster.
The SHIFT assessment provides an independent assessment of how housing organisations are performing against challenging environmental targets. This year we were delighted to see that our overall environmental score had improved, which demonstrates how hard we are working to combat climate change.
