Assisting the Corporate Audit team with anything that required addressing. This included contributing to the preparation of audits, recording and analysing the findings and corresponding with the auditees regarding 3 month, 6 month and 12 month updates. I worked in a team of 5 who I spoke to daily. I also helped with SOx reporting, making sure that Honda complied to all the SOx regulations ny completing testing and assisting the manager responsible.
In charge of the HR email inbox so answering Associate queries. Processing new starters, job changes and leavers (this involves creating the documentation, sending emails to the Associates and their line managers and updating HR systems). Processing payroll each month correctly. Worked on the undergraduate recruitment process (advertising the roles, training line managers, reviewing CV and cover letters, interviewing candidates, planning and leading the virtual assessment day). Also ran various reports for people in the company.
I really enjoyed my work placement due to the amount of responsibility and opportunities I was given. Throughout the year I was able to provide ideas to the team that were always taken seriously, with some being put in place. I did not expect the experience I have gained, and am very grateful for it.
this placement was extremely enjoyable. From the beginning i was given so much help and guidance but also the independence to work alone. I was given many tasks/ duties throughout with the opportunity to grow. there was also many social aspects to the job such as PR events, CBT and Goodwood
I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Honda Motor Europe. I have been exposed greatly to international business and have learnt so many new skills (excel, communication and presentation to name a few). I thank my management for trusting me with a lot of responsibility as it gave me the opportunity to learn and thrive. I think a one year placement is a good amount of time as after this period I felt ready to take on a new challenge and explore other business areas and career paths with the confidence and skills working at Honda has given me.
The workload fluctuated massively. Sometimes i would have been sitting around with nothing to do, sometimes i would have lots to do. This was to be expected for a new placement opportunity, especially within a project management environment of the business. Learned a lot, however.
I have really enjoyed my time at Honda, as it is a large international company it gives you the opportunity to work within a Head Office environment, giving exposure to all aspects of how a business works. Additionally, understanding how multiple entities work together as Honda is made up of Honda Motor Europe, Honda UK and Honda Finance Europe all based in the head office.
