I did not enjoy it to begin with. Although the placement is listed as "engineering placement" I did little to no engineering work (I haven't done any "actual engineering" for the whole year.) At the start this disappointed me, however I have found some enjoyment in the job I do although it is completely unrelated to my degree and not really an engineering role.
I have really enjoyed my placement at Nissan. I received the necessary support from the beginning and have learned so many skills I am sure I will find useful both at University next year and in a future job. I enjoyed the responsibility and the overall team spirit in the office.
Very tough year for me, mainly due to the company culture of Nissan. They inflict strict rules and tight control over their employees which may fit other people but not me. Within my office there were placements that absolutely loved it here but few of us were on the opposite side of the spectrum. So if you fit - you'll love it. If you don't you'll hate it
I enjoyed my placement a lot due to the range of tasks covering a wide range of topics relating to the industry giving me a good understanding of the entire business process in a short space of time. I liked having my own projects and look forward to seeing them finished and continue to be used after my placement has finished.
I have been working for about 9 months now and I have enjoyed my placement a lot. I am so lucky to work in a fun and supportive team where I feel comfortable and welcome. I am trying to make the most out of this opportunity to learn and gain valuable skills for the future.
I've really enjoyed my time on placement. The moment I joined I was immersed into a department that was pivotal to Nissan. I've worked with many people during my time here and I've expanded my network onto other companies that deal with Nissan. There has never been a dull moment as I've been a part of many projects, many extra activities outside of my department and I've attended many useful training courses too.
I really enjoyed having lots of different jobs to do. Every day I had something different. I am always kept busy and I am given a lot of responsibility despite being a placement student. Working at Nissan you have to work as part of a large team despite being in different sections of the business which helps as a placement student who doesn't know where they are best fitted.
My placement has by far been my best experience so far in comparison to any other job I have worked in the past. Before I started my placement, I was very hesitant, with doubts of even doing a placement. However, since I arrived at Nissan, I was made to feel so welcome and an integral part of the team. I've had so many opportunities from developing my own knowledge, learning new skills on onsite training courses to having the opportunity to work on various teams to gain an even deeper understand of core systems and functions used daily.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Nissan Sunderland. Along with a large intake of other placement students for a good social scene, I was given lots of responsibility and felt like a well valued member of the team. Both factors lead to a strong work and social life and a very enjoyable placement.
I really enjoyed my time at NMUK working in Purchase. As someone who is not from the north of England I was a bit nervous about moving up, but I was made to feel so welcome by everyone. The atmosphere within my department was professional but also relaxed, which helped me to settle in quickly and start to enjoy my placement from really early on.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement at NMUK working in the purchasing department as a buyer. Not only do I work with a great department and team which have made the year more enjoyable but I have found the work that I am doing interesting which has meant the placement has flown over.
