I completed a 10-week internship which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was able to assist my colleagues with the daily tasks of the branch. As this was my first time working in the banking industry I was given the opportunity to explore the fundamental tasks of working in accounts with the both individual and corporate side.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Handelsbanken. I got to work on a range of different tasks that allowed me to get a good introduction into what working at a bank would be like. Staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome throughout the intern programme.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this internship due to the great variety of tasks there have been to get involved in, as well as being able to work with a very welcoming and supportive team who have ensured I got the most out of my time with the bank. It is a brilliant environment to work and learn in.
I never thought I'd actually be able to enjoy going to work everyday of summer but it was actually the best way I could have possibly spent my summer. I got to learn many new skills that I will use for the rest of my life and earn money while doing it!
I really enjoyed the internship and felt it was a great experience. I was in the Head Office and within my department I was rotated into various roles, which gave me a good insight of how a bank works. The culture was great and was lovely environment to work in and everyone always willing to help.
I really enjoyed how social and 'relaxed' the bank is. Compared with other banks I have had experience working in, it has been such a low pressured environment in comparison and because of this I have been able to perform by best. The regular bank and intern socials have also been a plus!
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Handelsbanken. It was a great insight into banking and has made me strongly consider a career in this field. Before I started my internship I didn't know anything about banking but everyone within the branch was willing to help me and I was given many opportunities to learn different aspects of the bank.
Overall, I saw my internship as a positive experience. I found it challenging to begin with however all staff were so kind and helpful that I gradually became more confident in myself and the work I was completing. I still fell like I have a long way to go, but at least I have made a start!
I really enjoyed my two month summer internship working at Handelsbanken. It provided me with a great insight in to how the bank operates as well as the banking sector in general. Everyone I came across at the bank was very welcoming and supportive and this aided my overall development.
Handelsbanken is a very good company to work for with lots of possibilities for progression due to the decentralised structure. Everybody was very welcoming to me in the branch and company as a whole and I felt very comfortable asking each member of staff if I had any questions. They likewise did their best to ensure that I understood what was going on within the bank, detailing their role to me and ensuring I was learning / staying involved, making it a very good role to understand banking and ask questions as an intern. The only downside of the internship was that without a proper structure I often found myself with not much to do and having to ask several times a day if there was anything I could do to help out.
It was good fun, getting on very well with the whole branch with no issues going on within the branch. I enjoyed learning more about all the systems in place within the branch day-to-day and banks in general. There was also a good vibe within the branch and a clear knowledge of when to joke and be serious.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Handelsbanken Internship program. It has given me a variety of experiences within the UK Banking environment and has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the industry. The colleagues I worked with were outstanding and always willing to give me more experience. Support was always available throughout the program, with everyone within the whole organisation being readily contactable. The training provided allowed me to feel confident within my role and deliver value straight away. On top of this the role helped me settle into London as I had only just recently moved to the UK before commencing the program. It is also important to consider that this was my first internship program experience, so I do not have any other programs to compare this too.
Branch was very welcoming and it was a relatively sociable team, creating a nice working environment. Sometimes the work became repetitive and tedious making the days less enjoyable - but overall a good experience. I never felt I was put under pressure or had too much responsibility as people were always available to ask questions to and to have my work checked over.
I really enjoyed my internship with Handelsbanken, and felt like have learnt a lot. Adapting to working 9-5 was much easier then expected, as I was working in a comfortable environment where everyone was happy to help if I was ever stuck on a task.
This was my second summer internship within the bank. Hence, I was able to take on more advanced work and consequently help the branch more. I had some tasks that were continuous throughout my internship but others that were shorter. To broaden my horizons, I made sure to get involved in as much as possible by for example shadowing client meetings and attending a corporate event.
I really enjoyed my summer internship at Handelsbanken, where all the colleagues were very friendly and really made you feel at home. There were 10 other interns also at Head Office so didn't feel alone, and it has gave me a really good insight of what it is like to work in a Bank.
