My placement year has been very interesting and surprised me with the amount of responsibility and trust you are given. I worked as part of two important project deliverable teams working both on client site (preferred) and in the Accenture home office. The type of work has always been interesting and challenging. One element of feed-forward that could enhance the experience is to ensure IP members who have come from a project with exposure maintain the same or similar on another role as it can lead to demotivation.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship with Accenture. This placement provided me with the opportunity to fufill the same responsibilities and day-to-day role as an Analyst, which therefore provided an invaluable insight into working for Accenture. This role was able to provide a new challenge each and everyday, which allowed for a wide variety of skills/competencies to be developed. Not only this, but also I was able to work alongside a fantastic team who are willing to share their experience and advice with you thorughout your time at the company.
It was very well organised - from training to the actual work. I was given actual responsibility where I was given credit for everything done well but was also responsible for everything that didn't go well. It was a steep learning curve but I enjoyed every bit of it, especially the high-level exposure to the client.
The internship went by pretty quickly. It began with an induction and training week where we took part in fun ice-breakers as well as training. This included working for a client on a case study and an excel course. During the rest of the internship, as well as work, there were different socials after-work with the team and we got to see all the other interns every Friday. The work got better as we progressed since we learnt more and more.
