I assist a large team of sales representatives in selling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure on the commercial side of the industry. This involves accompanying them to customer meetings, help prepare customer content, organise trainings for the team members, profiling and building a strong lead basis to ensure the smooth running of the business.
I was tasked with creating various systems that benefit different teams. My day-to-day tasks revolve around picking up stories (tasks) from the team board and executing them promptly. These tasks vary depending on the teams' goals for the quarter. When a task would be complete I proceed to create a Merge Request which gets reviewed by the team. While I have spare time it's also reasonable to go through other team members Merge Requests to assess them to the best of my ability. Participating in planning sessions is also part of my monthly task where we hash out the requests from the Product Developement team to deliver them exactly what they want.
My responsibilities include managing HCM and Northern European internal newsletter which was sent out to 200+ employees. - Updating and managing the go to market plan for the UK HCM Sales development while co-coordinating with different lines of businesses. - Highlight of the year was when I started to learn more about reporting and using data to design and plan with the help of the team. - Was involved in many exciting projects including social media content and creating storyboards for promotional videos. - Took the opportunity to lead Macmillan Coffee Mornings as a part of Oracle volunteering
Supporting the HR Central Team with the Inbox and phone line whilst working alongside the HR Business Partners on a range of projects. Further involves supporting the Compensation and Benefits and Wellbeing team whilst actively engaging in promoting Diversity and Inclusion across the company.
I do work with analysis, territory modelling, pipeline data quality and help orchestrate the development initiatives. Generally speaking, this is working with spreadsheets/ PowerPoint/ presenting and analytics. I have assisted with account research (for example selecting new accounts to come on board). In addition, I have helped with account prospecting. Account prospecting refers to the considerations that go in when determining if there is scope to sell into an account. This aspect requires a lot of research and presenting back to the team.
On a day-to-day basis I prepare and post internal communications, respond to email enquiries to advise employees on internal policies, and liaise between different teams to ensure the correct advise is given. I organise volunteering projects and support other project leaders to ensure they have all the resources necessary to lead a successful event, whilst complying to internal policies and requirements.
I am responsible for coordinating the Oracle Women's Leadership communities across EMEA. I do this by enabling virtual events, assisting with communications and marketing, understanding the needs of our communities and promote diversity and research through data analysis.
This was the biggest opportunity I received throughout my academic and future career journey, and I could not be any more thankful. The experience was not only unforgettable in terms of the amazing projects I got involved in and, but also the great Oracle community that I work and network with. Everyone was helpful and willing to share newly discovered knowledge every day. Saying that this experience was nothing but a blessing would be an understatement.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Oracle. I am a Business and Accounting student and Bournemouth and gained invaluable skills and opportunities during my year. Across the year, I grew as a person and developed an understanding of the workplace, all elements which I will be taking back to University.
Loved my work placement at Oracle! There is so much opportunity for growth. It is very friendly working environment and you feel very valued. My team was very supportive and made sure that there were a lot of opportunities for personal development.
