About Sparx
Sparx was set up in 2011 by Mark Dixon and Glenn Woodcock. Both are experienced scientists and mathematicians who have enjoyed successful careers in statistics and lecturing, engineering, investment banking and venture capital respectively. They believe that by applying everything they and the Sparx team know about data and technology to the field of education – a field in which its enormous potential is currently under-exploited – they can transform people’s futures and help change the world. Every day at Sparx is about pushing new ideas to their limit. Continually proving what works. And what doesn’t.
Here at Sparx, we’re working flat out to investigate scientifically what makes the best learning experience. By using real-time data to drive an evidence based approach to education, we’re developing an extraordinary new technology for the classroom that is redefining the limits of what young people can achieve and is helping us figure out what works (and what doesn’t) in the field of education.
Our platform for Maths uses custom built content and a powerful, data-driven web and mobile framework, to deliver a tailored set of exercises, games and incentives for students.
