About Institution of Civil Engineers
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is the charitable Body to the Civil Engineering sector, recognised nationally and internationally, enabling professional qualification and development whilst promoting and maintaining standards and ethics; providers of expert knowledge, educational support, welfare for members, professional advice, research and opinion; venue host for onsite conferences and other events; publishers; providers of specialist engineering contracts; training, consultancy and recruitment services; creators of specialist written material, benefactors, property owners, landowners and landlords.
ICE was formed in 1818 and now has over 80,000 members in more than 150 countries. Our members play a hugely important part in society: they shape our world and save millions of lives.
Based in Westminster, we advise government and media on infrastructure needs, support civil engineers and technicians. Our work includes many other activities, from qualifying engineers who have reached the necessary standards, inspiring school students, hosting events to spread best practice and provide debate current issues.
Thomas Telford Ltd is the commercial trading arm with business units including: Publishing, Training, Recruitment, Contracts, and runs a large venue in Westminster involving Catering and Event management.
The placement will give a wide experience including a major charity, and a number of commercial industries where experience on your CV is all important.
We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a high performing team and gain a broad experience of the finance function in action. The ideal candidate will be looking for a career in accountancy, is keen to learn and wants to make an effective contribution in their role. You should be a confident user of Excel, have basic Word and database skills. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles is desirable.
