I thoroughly enjoyed Placement Year. The work was largely varied and enjoyable, colleagues were friendly and welcoming, adding up to an overall positive experience. The team made me feel at ease very early on, in an environment which I was somewhat alien to previously and quite apprehensive about joining and this positive experience continued throughout the year.
My internship at Smith & Williamson was extremely insightful and provided me with an opportunity to improve both my CV and my knowledge of accounting. The team I was placed within were helpful, kind and always providing me with work wherever possible. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship here and would recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 6 weeks I spent at Smith and Williamson - not only with the work and tasks I was set, but also getting to know the team and other employees working within the firm. The working environment was really lovely, making it all the more easy to get work done. I would go back tomorrow!
I have really enjoyed my internship programme at Smith and Williamson in the Business Tax department. The team have been really good at getting me involved in work and I have been learning and working throughout the programme. Everybody will sit down with you and try to aid in your understanding of business tax even when they are really busy. It was overall a great insight into the world of tax.
My internship at Smith & Williamson was extremely enjoyable. I was given multiple opportunities to extend my knowledge, was progressively given more responsibility and gained an understanding of the audit role, all in a challenging yet friendly and sociable environment.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience. This was due to a combination of interesting work, great people and a great working environment. The work I was given was interesting and important which motivated me to complete it to the best of my ability. The staff at this company are amazingly welcoming and I felt as though I fit in straight away.
The internship was enjoyable for two mains reasons. Firstly, it was a good insight into the work conducted within the department which allowed me to learn a lot. Secondly, the environment of the office was very welcoming meaning we (the interns) could quickly integrate.
I have very much enjoyed my time here and its been great to see what is involved in the business tax processes. One thing I empathised during my interview is that I wanted to be given real work that will aid my learning process and make sure I get the most out of my internship, which I felt I have been able to achieve during my 6 weeks. The one thing I really liked about the company was the social atmosphere the office has - Everyone is friendly and happy to help you with giving you work or questions you may have
There are two sides; firstly everyone was super friendly and welcoming so it was always nice seeing my colleagues at work. However, accounting is quite repetitive so over the 6 week period, the work was not 'best job ever' level.
I really enjoyed my internship with S&W. I was given enough work to keep me busy during the day but not too much that I was having to work excessive hours. It's really nice working at S&W as there are lots of people of similar ages who have all gone through the internship/grad scheme stage of life and they are all willing to offer advice.
