Over my time at British Airways I gained a great insight into what aviation has to offer which will help with deciding on future career moves. As well as this I learnt and demonstrated a range of skills that will be invaluable for my future career.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement at British Airways. It was an exciting and fast paced work environment where I was able to develop a variety of skills. I was given real responsibility and able to manage high profile projects. I was exposed to multiple business operations and departments which allowed me to have a well rounded placement year.
I found my work placement extremely interesting. I was excited to go into work every day. I had the opportunity to get involved in many exciting projects and looked forward to taking responsibility and managing my own projects. Finally, working at Heathrow Airport, I could see the results of my projects and how they added great value to the customer experience, which was incredibly rewarding.
I worked in an operational role with an extremely supportive team and worked on some very exciting projects to do with flight training. The best part of the placement was being able to see how the work I did made a difference, and had a positive impact on how the company worked.
I thoroughly enjoyed my head office placement at British Airways. I was placed in Heathrow Operations and therefore no day was the same as constant issues and situations affected my role. I was given significant responsibility and led a number of projects, which were important to the British Airways operation at Heathrow. Furthermore, as a group of placement students we had the opportunity to engage with a variety of charity work for Flying Start, the BA charity which works with Comic Relief. The pinnacle of this was a 100km hike in Italy.
I loved my placement at BA, I got a real insight into the company over the 11 months. During my placement, I was given responsibility to manage and deliver projects both in the UK and internationally. I worked in the Global Partnerships and Sponsorships team working with our partners including England Rugby, The White Company, KidZania London and Union Coffee. This gave me a breadth of experience into partnerships and British Airways as a whole through working with departments across the company including our international teams.
My placement at British Airways was amazing. I learnt so much about the industry, was able to develop a variety of skills and gain an understanding of what it's like to work for a leading British brand. The airline industry is exciting, challenging and rewarding place to work, and throughout my placement I had an increasing sense of pride to work for British Airways
I had a great 11 months working for British Airways on the Head Office Business Placement Scheme. I was welcomed into a team and given real responsibility throughout my year. I worked with senior international stakeholders from other airlines and was able to lead projects.
Was a very good experience feeling very comfortable with the team, they are always smiling, and help you with anything also when they realise that you are struggling with the task assigned. the thing the i most appreciated was they way that i was felling comfortable even if was the first time that i was working with them.
I had a great time during my 11 month placement at British Airways. So much so that I was asked to interview for the graduate scheme before the 11 months were over, and have accepted a place on the Leaders for Business graduate scheme in 2015.
