Balloon Kenya

Balloon Kenya is an award winning social enterprise that connects young people from around the world (we call them Enterprise Fellows) with budding Kenyan entrepreneurs to imagine, design and launch new businesses that tackle unemployment and improve lives. Our aim is to build a global generation of job creators, rather than job seekers, who believe in defeating poverty and disadvantage through enterprise, not aid.

Working with partners from the NGO, corporate and academic sectors, we support ambitious and driven young people to develop and apply innovative solutions to local problems that make practical improvements to people's daily lives. Over the course of our six week programmes Fellows are equipped with the tools to lead an entrepreneurial process, teaming up with local youth groups to build micro-enterprises that have lasting impacts – way beyond the project cycle.

Balloon Kenya provides young people with the opportunity to demonstrate their value in positions of real responsibility. This is a new form of international development focused on the empowerment of disadvantaged communities through direct investment in those who need it most.
