I enjoyed most of my internship. The atmosphere was very friendly with most of the people around me being very supportive. I do feel that HR could have done some organisation a bit better; stuff like on training days arranging for groups to go for staggered lunches as it got crowded. Also I feel that there should have been better organisation with the salary payment. We did not receive anything at the beginning or before, even though other internships do offer housing assistance or salaries at the start. This meant that we were only paid anything halfway through, at which point we would have already had to pay a lot of rent. On top of this, there were issues with the tax codes given.
From my experience so far, I really feel that the internship holds a high standard. From everything to the administration, training, staffing, feedback / review sessions, events, mentorship / buddies etc. Moreover, I have learnt a lot - being exposed to a dynamic industry in a prominent bank and being surrounded by / getting to learn from some of the most competent people in the industry.
Great opportunity to see the inner workings of a bank. A lot to learn which is exciting. Can get tiring as long hours however overall it is enjoyable. Plenty of social events also which is good. There are also a lot of talks and teach ins which are a fun way of learning about other teams.
