I received a good variety of work, although unfortunately it was mostly desk based research rather than practical as I had experienced on previous placements with the company.
The work I did was incredibly interesting and I felt like I was given the opportunity to make a genuine positive contribution to the company rather than just being kept busy with unimportant tasks.
It was an amazing experience that I was glad to do with Dstl, not only was the work interesting but my colleagues were amazing. The work was challenging and kept me busy.
I found the work very interesting and there were many opportunities available for me to further my understanding of what the company did. I enjoyed the relaxed and helpful nature of my colleagues and the work I did.
DSTL was a great place to work in and take an industrial placement with. During my time working there, I was really enjoying and delighted with the work and environment.
The work was varied and I enjoyed being able to apply the skills I had learnt during my course to real psychological research which could benefit someone.
The task I was set was just a software job - a little dull but an important bit of work. It was a very nice environment to work in and overall I'd say I enjoyed it a lot.
The placement had both high points and low points. As I was working with a team based in Area 2 of Building 5, I was not able to have a desk with them, and was placed in a lab away from the team. This made communicating with them when I needed help difficult. I enjoyed working on a single project over the time I was there, rather than flitting between tasks, and the placement improved as I made progress through the project.
