I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. Getting an insight into the corporate world and through the audit department was invaluable. Ability to have things to do and be involved in the office was something I was scared of but the people and organisers made it an unbelievable experience
I found the five weeks doing actual work reasonably enjoyable ~ the colleagues were nice and the work was reasonably fulfilling. The first four and last two days spent all together were largely useless and boring days where you waited for the clock to count down. I found this was primarily because they were not challenging or educational, except for 2 actual training days. The socials both for the interns and for the office I was in were very fun, and the highlight of the trip.
I really enjoyed it, everyone in the office was really helpful and supportive, always willing to give me advice or help me when I had questions. I completed a wide range of work across a number of different departments and really enjoyed everything I did. Induction was great too.
The work conducted was enjoyable and I was treated like the other colleagues rather then a intern which is nice. Due to obvious reasons the work that you do is not going to be particularly difficult so can be repetitive. The higher up you get the more interesting it becomes.
I found the internship to be a very enjoyable experience. The work was varied and there was a network of support around to answer any personal or technical questions I had. The internship was well organised and involved a range of social activities, as well as technical training and other opportunities for development.
I loved my internship at the firm BDO. I was at client sites for the duration of my time and it allowed me to develop key skills and get a real insight to the industry. I would recommend it to anyone especially with the firm BDO as they truly do care
I found the insight day at BDO to be a very useful and enjoyable experience, which allowed me to gain a better understanding of the accountancy sector. The insight day was well-structured and allowed me to develop new skills and meet interesting and engaging people at the firm. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
BDO offered a very relaxed yet professional environment. The receptionist was helpful, the employees working in audit and assurance and tax were very down to earth and relatable. The fact that they enjoyed working at BDO showed and reflected positively towards us candidates. The candidates I experienced the insight day with were also friendly.
It was nice to meet new people from so many different backgrounds - from school leavers all over the country to people who were in university and even those who had done their masters and gone into work. We all got to know each other during the opening session when we were doing a human bingo session for which we had to find other people who fit the criteria on the sheet.
It was really insightful, and I got back a lot more than I thought I would - also getting to speak to senior associates was interesting as they openly shared their experiences. That made me feel like they were not giving me a prepared presentation with cliche answers, instead searching for answers within their own wealth of experience that was relevant to our own experiences.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Insight day with BDO. All the attendees and staff present were very friendly and knowledgeable both about BDO as a company as well as Accountancy as a career. I also found the short Q & A's with the current Graduates and School Leavers to be very useful in helping me to find out more.
