I found the work was really tailored to my degree and this allowed me to really enjoy what I was doing. Furthermore, I got to meet with loads of great people which really helped me enjoy my time here. Finally, there were lots of facilities like a gym that provided a break from work.
I really enjoyed my internship. The team was extremely accommodating and welcoming. Secondly the project assigned to me was very relevant and interesting. It definitely felt like a meaningful piece of work, and was also very much appreciated by other members of the team who gave suggestions for improvement alongside sharing thoughts on how this could be linked to previous work, and carried on after the end of my internship. Additionally the work was highly relevant to my degree of study, and also challenging. I was able to learn a lot of new things about certain softwares - a steep learning curve. However, I always felt I could ask someone in case I was stuck or needed help.
Varied internship with good amounts of responsibility and work that can be deemed to be useful. Access to attend firm meetings, opinion asked of you, good office environment albeit can feel slow at times. Good breadth within PRA to learn about many different practice areas, and therefore not be restricted in terms of learning. Very good support in place albeit review mechanism is questionable.
I really enjoyed working at the Bank of England for a number of different reasons. Firstly, I found all my colleagues supportive and friendly. On top of this, the work life balance was perfect. Lastly, the location of the office - in the heart of London was definitely a welcomed change.
The internship, which lasted for 2 months, was enjoyable throughout. I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and experience multiple meetings and events. I enjoyed the intellectual challenge of learning about previously undiscovered areas and working with ideas that were genuinely new and important. Moreover, the ability to work on a personal project and then present it and discuss my ideas with leaders in their fields was truly unique and something I really valued.
Everyone is very welcoming, and whilst it takes time to get used to the way the bank works-terminology, systems, etc-this is taken into account. It is a very good atmosphere which allows you to make the most out of the internship, and feel valued. There is an element of luck on the division you get and if it aligns with your preferences, but there is plenty of scope to get insight into different areas.
I really enjoyed my internship firstly because of the atmosphere, which was great. The people are very welcoming and the work is challenging, which encourages you to think. In addition, the resources at the Bank were great in facilitating my learning and providing me with a well rounded opinion on Bank matters, as well as international policy.
I really enjoyed my internship. I found that there was good variety in my day-to-day work while my team also got me involved in interesting and often external meetings. The Bank is an incredibly interesting place and there are always events and seminars with guest speakers, so if there's something that sounds interesting you can absolutely do that.
The work I was given was well suited, interesting and proved a good challenge (not too hard or too easy). My line manager always double checked that I was enjoying the work, and regularly check that I was progressing well and didn't need any extra help or information.
The placement itself was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. I was given one main project another side project, both of which constituted meaningful work that later used by the Bank. The work-life culture at the Bank is very accommodative and all of the people are very friendly, helpful and supportive.
The internship program at the Bank of England was really enjoyable. Coming from a non-economics background, I was concerned the experience would be overwhelming but everyone helped to ensure I didn't feel out of place. The level of work I had to complete was more than enough, and sufficiently interesting to keep me engaged throughout.
I really enjoyed the whole experience of working for the Bank of England. The first week or so was slow (naturally), as I was reading about the internal processes of what my team does and how to approach my project. After this, the workload picked up and I was busy doing my project and other business as usual tasks. The work I was given wasn't busy work or menial tasks created especially for me - it was something had would've otherwise been done by a full time analyst. This was great as I felt useful throughout my time.
I had a 2-month summer internship at Bank of England. I've enjoyed it very much. Pros: People are very helpful Clear Guidance Insightful work Open office (The whole division is sitting together) Good & Valuable work Very nice food (Breakfast + Lunch) Nice tea and coffee Cons: Prepare to work hard
All summer interns work on a project, mine was interesting and I had a lot of choice in the direction it would take. In many cases interns' work will be used to guide future work by economists in the bank so it is satisfying to know your work is important.I had a great summer at the Bank of England, met a lot of really nice people and had some great work experience. My team was really friendly and keen for me to get as much as possible out of the experience.
I loved my time at Bank of England. I was challenged everyday by interesting topics and discussions with incredibly smart people. The job was also extremely interesting and intellectually stimulating and I was being given a great deal of responsibility even being just an intern. I have done several internships in different firms and sectors but this one was ust unforgettable.

Overall, the internship gave a really good insight into the responsibilities of the Bank. I was allowed to have hands on experience as an employee from day one as I attended meetings, seminars and produce work that the team used directly.I was able to work with externals and lots of other teams internally. I had daily tasks that were important to the functions of my team.
