I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year. It has made me certain of the future career path that I wish to take, and taught me so many useful skills that I will continue to use and develop throughout my life. I have loved working for the company.
Overall I enjoyed the placement. The responsibility and variety you experience is amazing. It was very tough at times, but also very rewarding. I have learned a huge amount and become more confident. However, occasionally I had to work very long hours.
The internship was really enjoyable, as it was an opportunity to try lots of new things and gain loads of new experiences. Interns are given every opportunity to learn, including extra training courses on top of what is already offered, so you come away with a huge wealth of knowledge.
At first I struggled adjusting to the size of the company and all of the different brands owned by L'Oréal, but after a couple of months I really began to enjoy the day to day life at the company. I think the time it took for me to settle into the company took longer than I expected, so once I began to settle into the company I really appreciated the culture.
This placement was a great insight into working at an FMCG. The amount of responsibility given to interns can greatly shape and impact the projects being worked on. In the same breath there is still room to make mistakes and learn to develop your career without thinking it will stain any future progress.
I live working around cosmetics and skincare it’s my favourite industry! I was given actual responsabilities and felt like I was contributing to the team. The people were all so welcoming and lovely and I felt out of my comfort zone but not uncomfortable.
Loved Loved Loved it! The working environment was great, good buzz created by the employees, you can tell everyone loves the company and their jobs which makes you more passionate My team in CPD were so friendly and welcoming, and made me feel part of the team right away.
I spent a day in the London Hammersmith office for the 'Lads at L'Oréal' insight day. I was able to shadow the current intern in the position for which I applied for a placement year. The intern as well as the ladies from HR - :::Izzy and Sarah::: if I remember correctly - were extraordinarily friendly and helpful in answering questions. The other guys and I felt very welcomed and everyone left with a bag of new products and a heightened interest in the industry.
I really enjoyed my summer at L'Oreal. It was a great experience to work with such ambitious people who are so passionate about the beauty industry. HR are extremely supportive throughout the whole time here so that you never feel lost.
