I absolutely loved it and I have been so sad to leave. The company and the people are just as magical as you would expect. The placement gives you so many challenges and you gain so much responsibility which really develops you personally and professionally. I loved going in every day even if I was extremely busy and under pressure. It was the best year and I really recommend it.
The workplace environment was very relaxed and the open plan layout encouraged everyone to interact which made for an enjoyable working day. There were several opportunities to get involved with outside of the normal working day, such as the May 4th Star Wars event, the Alice in Wonderland Urban Decay makeover and many more. I enjoyed working for a company within the entertainment industry as I was genuinely interested in any work I was undertaking.
Overall experience was fantastic, great perks and friendly atmosphere. However, some aspects of my particular role were not enjoyable and I would say the majority of the work I was doing did not relate to my uni degree (Product Design and Manufacture), e.g mainly admin tasks. Sometimes felt very disillusioned/demotivated about the Disney name, given the work involved. Especially when on £16k for a London placement, when our next interns jumped to £18k. Unreasonable hours sometimes expected, was once told I had to choose between playing in the company's 5-aside and work, also was rushed to complete a task by phone on Xmas Eve after everyone else had gone home - wasn't happy!
It is very enjoyable, apart from doing your job and getting to know a lot of people, there are also a lot of other things you can take part in such as Star Wars day, the staff forum which was hold every year. It was amazing to be part of the company.
I had a really great placement at The Walt Disney Company as a marketing intern in Franchise Management. I had the opportunity to work on many incredible properties such as Star Wars, Disney Princess and Marvel. Each day I did something different, from assisting in EMEA wide marketing campaigns to helping on set at TV shoots.
My finance placement at The Walt Disney Company was very enjoyable in many ways. I learnt so much about the finance sector as well as general office etiquette which will be invaluable to me for the rest of my life. The atmosphere in the office was particularly enjoyable as everyone was so friendly and helpful and you feel like a valued member of the team.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, the work was very enjoyable and the atmosphere was incredible. It take me a while to feel part of the team but that was mainly due to my own shyness as the team were very friendly and welcoming. Every day was enjoyable and different providing variety in my work and constantly keeping me on my toes.
Alot of my role was working for The Disney Store. My role was to help the Store Systems team and the Store Support team with being the first line support for stores. The time I spent at Disney was very enjoyable. Disney is a fantastic company to work for the people are fantastic as they are very knowledgeable and relaxed. When times get tough the company pulls together to get the end result.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. It is the most valuable career decision I have made but it also became part of my life. After the novelty wears off its still a fantastic job & a great company to work for. I think a big part of this was my team who were amazing!
