I am 6 months into my placement and have loved every second of it. I strongly believe in the saying 'the people make the place' and I can honestly say that all of my colleagues have been a pleasure to work with. Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming.
The people are the best part of the job. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and as they employ a good number of interns, there is an immediate group of people who you can socialise and make friends with. The role itself feels like a real job as opposed to a placement, which I found a disadvantage. Although I do recognise this is what some people do want from a work placement.
I really enjoyed working at Disney as the company covers so many different industries offering interns the opportunity to learn so much in the year. The intern community was also really good with lots of interns that are in the same position as you so make the year a whole lot easier.
I have had a fantastic time on my placement, it has been a truly valuable experience as I get a lot of responsibility that other organisations do not offer. The reason I did not rate it 100%, is because I felt interns were often taken advantage of.
It was absolutely amazing. From the very first day I have been put to work. I started off shadowing the previous interns and by the end of the week I was working alone. I got a complete run down of the company and the market, as well as learning numerous new skills.
