I was consistently challenged and pushed throughout my work during the internship, which made it extremely enjoyable; my project was relevant and the work I did was used in the wider business, which contributed to the enjoyment by making me feel valued. Very few tasks were boring or felt like I was having admin pushed onto me.
I really enjoyed my internship with Tesco; I had no idea what I wanted to do in the future before this placement, and I'm now leaving with a career in mind, and the potential to rejoin a great company at an exciting time. I've made a lot of great connections, and a lot of new friends amongst the other interns too!
I had a delightful time, great tasks that I really enjoyed and fabulous support from my whole team. I worked on tasks that I loved and in case of a problem, I could ask my team mates as well as my line manager was there for me to help with anything and explain if needed.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tesco. I have found everyone to be incredible welcoming and the projects I have been working on are exciting. I am pleased that I have been given responsibility to work on projects which will make a huge difference to the future of Tesco stores. Addtionally, the social side of the internship has been great. I have enjoyed the events that the Entry Level Programme team have put on for all of the interns, including the Graduate Sports Day and Graduate Ball. Overall, I have had a great 10 weeks!
My experience as a Support Office Intern was brilliant. I enjoyed the whole process - from the team I was working in, the project I was given to complete, the interaction with other interns and graduates, and the help I received from my line manager. It was a great job, and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 10 week internship! The people I worked with were all very socialable, interesting and welcoming. I felt like I learnt a lot about myself and the business. However the role itself became a little mundane towards the end as a lot of the reporting was done manually and I wasted a lot of time waiting for large Excel spreadsheets to process.

My placement in operations development of dotcom was fantastic, it gave me the opportunity to see how one of the biggest companies in the world coordinates its plans. You don't really appreciate how big a company is until you work within and I now look at Retail in a completely different way. The planning, strategy and innovation behind the industry is incredible. Regular consumers take for granted the fact they can get their shopping delivered to their homes, but how it gets there absolutely blew my mind. Initially, I thought I wanted to go down the banking/finance/consulting route, however, working in retail is just as exciting. I thoroughly enjoy projects, owning something and taking it from birth to delivery. Tesco provided me with the opportunity to take charge of my own project. Speaking to all of my colleagues, everyone seems to have an exciting project on, there's always something interesting going on. Don't get me wrong, it was overwhelming the first week or so, with so many acronyms, new operations, new models and new systems it was difficult to keep pace. The complexity of their operations and the insane attention to detail is also a challenge - however, after two weeks of meeting various individuals and asking MANY questions, I got through and now competently understand how everything works. I have enjoyed, with much satisfaction, the purpose of my role which is to ensure a better customer service.
Not particularly - I loved the other interns but the project I was given wasn't at all in the sector that I'd signed up for. When I got to Tesco, I ended up working in a completely different division from what I'd signed up for, and what was advertised on the website. The general consensus amongst the interns was the projects were very arbitrary and, on the whole, poorly organised.
I found it very repetitive, the work i was given was largely work that my team didnt want to do. my team were mostly nice and we could get on and have a joke but many of them didnt have a lot of ambition to progress and were happy in their role so i felt we had very different mind sets.
