Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tesco on the internship. Was really professionally run and I was given real work to do throughout my time. Had a really fun team to work with who were very supportive. The project that I was assigned was really interesting and I could see how it would have a real impact on the company.
I didn't realise how much I could learn in such a short period of time. Not only have I learnt so much about the Buying and Merchandising role, but I've gained self-confidence, met some incredible friends for life and also gained more commercial awareness towards the retailing industry. I really see myself working at Tesco now in the future.
The working environment was always friendly and inclusive, with real support being given from each and every member of the team. The work they gave me to do was real and you could see the measurable difference that you had made to the company, something that was really very fulfilling.
I really enjoyed the work and environment. The work I was doing was interesting and helpful to others in the team. Got on really well with everyone in my team, other interns and those higher up. Had 4 projects to work on throughout my time that challenged but interested me.
It was a good experience to learn about how a large and successful company works. Plus there are many opportunities to arrange meetings with people in a range of departments to get a good understanding of what different teams' work is like - access you can't get if you're not working there. Social events were organised by my department every month which were a good way to hang out with the analysts and see if a grad role was for me.
+ Overall I enjoyed my Tech internship experience a lot for a number of reasons - the team I was working in and thus the work I contributed touring my time, revolved around making the experience of customers better, as well as making sure the infrastructure behind our services was up to date + I particularly enjoyed exploring the services and facilities that cloud services have to offer and how we use the cloud in our work. The main thing putting me off rating it a 10/10 is that the on boarding process takes a while when you join a big team with many different streams of work / sprint goals happening at one time - the layers of beaurocracy you have to go through when contributing to complex projects is expected at big companies in general.
I really enjoyed my work placement. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop my employability skills, as well as meet some great new colleagues and appreciate how a shared set of values can unify a highly diverse group of people. The responsibility that I was given throughout my internship meant that I felt engaged and stimulated everyday, and excited to fulfil my potential for the future.
I have learned so much about the different areas and possible job roles within the retail industry in only 10 weeks. I have had the chance to be invited to so many different opportunities (supplier visits, supplier meetings, team days, divisional meetings...) that I have never once felt bored or useless to my team.
I have really enjoyed my placement and have enjoyed it far more than any job I have ever done. The work is exciting and there is a great social culture in my department. I haven't felt like getting up in the morning to go to work is a chore which is a really nice feeling.
I enjoyed working with Tesco technology. I enjoyed the team that I was able to work with and I enjoyed completing the work assigned to me. It was also great to meet and work with the other interns and graduates. I also enjoyed the various visits we completed outside of office such as to the CFC and data centre.
I found my placement hugely enjoyable. Not only did I find the area of retail fascinating, but I was given genuine responsibility and important tasks to do from the start. If you're willing to put the effort in and be engaged, you can get so much out of your experience here.
I have really enjoyed my work placement, especially when I was in the office working with all the Technology inside Tesco. On the other hand, I did not enjoy very much intern extra activities such as the visit to the Data Centre or to the CFC. Unfortunately they have been poorly organised in my opinion.
I quite enjoyed my placement. I am trusted on my first day to work in a secret project with NDA. So although I can't tell what I am working on, the trust on my ability is great and I appreciate that. The line manager arranged a variety of area to work with. They give me a multi-dimentional insight into the work our team has.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Tesco, the culture surprised me how relaxed and non-hierarchical the company is, as I found myself sitting with senior managers from the beginning, but everyone was so friendly I had no idea how senior they were! I enjoyed my project work in the beginning - the first few weeks required a steep learning curve, but I enjoyed getting to know the people and area of the business I was placed in within Finance. However, I finished my project at the end of week 3, way ahead of schedule (mine had a conclusive end point, whereas other interns had projects that were ongoing), and I then found myself feeling like a burden on my manager, who would attempt to find me useful things to do daily, but I often found that I would complete these tasks quickly and asked for more to do, but there wasn't anything I could help with significantly due to being an intern. This came to a head in weeks 7&8 when I started organising shadowing days to sit with other departments as I was quite bored being stuck in a department with nothing to do. However, everyone at Tesco are very willing to accommodate the interns, so I was able to use my experience effectively and see other areas of the business instead of just sitting at my desk not being very productive.
I found the team I was placed in to be extremely welcoming. This helped me enjoy the internship as even outside of working I enjoyed my time with my colleagues. Enjoyment was further emphasised as the tasks I got to work on were actual business tasks and provided real value to the team.
I really enjoyed my Tesco Internship - the atmosphere here is incredibly friendly and my team were very welcoming when I first arrived. Everyone was happy to help and I managed to meet a huge amount of people at every level and in many areas of the business who would make time in their busy schedule to spend time with me and tell me about their roles.
I really enjoyed my internship at Tesco. The work environment was really amazing and I loved being given responsibility from the start. I did my internship in the Fruit department and my team always helped me and made me feel very welcome. I was given a lot of exciting opportunities whilst working here and had a lot of fun through out my time at Tesco.
I really enjoyed my 10 weeks with Tesco. I was working in the Finance department and found the office environment to be both lively and welcoming. This really helped for me to quickly feel relaxed in my role and get the most out of the experience. Tesco made an effort to host many events to help make the experience as fun as possible.
This was my first internship, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really enjoyed my 10 weeks in Tesco's technology department. I was allocated a meaningful project which would deliver real value for the company and its customers, and given plenty of support to complete it. The working environment was relaxed, surprisingly stress-free, and yet still motivated and challenging.
