The Store Internship experience was really enjoyable and gave a great insight in to what a management role entails as well as an idea of how to progress in the business. The program is set out in a way that familiarises you with the various different departments before delving deeper into a single department.
Lots of freebies! Loads of companies come in and give away their products. It’s also a lovely campus with great work areas. Surround by really awesome people that are active outside their workplace as well. I felt there’s was a fab work life balance and made some really great friendships.
I thoroughly enjoyed me internship at Tesco. I have achieved and developed so much in this role. No day was the same so I experienced many different tasks. The expectations in the role are very different to anything I had experienced before and this really challenged me in a good way.
As a whole, it was a very insightful and enjoyable experience where I got to learn a significant amount about retail management and my own leadership style, which I think will be very useful for me regardless of the career direction I want to take after this. There was so much to be doing and so much to learn the day would fly by and that's one of the things I enjoyed the most. Having real responsibility and impacts is also great on an internship. Of course, working in retail always has its more tedious tasks and you will inevitably have to spend a fair bit of time stacking shelves, but it's only part of the job.
I really enjoyed it, it was great to be able to learn so much about the business, especially by being able to work directly with a range of teams. When I was busy I definitely enjoyed it more than when I was sitting around, which thankfully wasn't too much overall. I enjoyed it so much that I would like to do the grad scheme next!
The supply chain placement was very enjoyable to experience. I had autonomy over a specific project and I learnt valuable skills throughout. Tesco provided so much support and there was such a positive attitude towards the interns. It truly made you feel valued and the social side of the function allowed you to gain valuable contacts and relationships at all levels of the business.
I enjoyed points of my internship. The project I was working on was very heavy in the first few weeks and much less busy towards the end. When I had lots of work, I was happy. When I was sitting doing nothing useful or being given repetitive jobs, I did not enjoy my day.
Very much - throughout the internship I was given a range of projects to work on, whereby I made tangible contributions and learnt both soft and technical skills. Everyone I worked with was always very approachable and friendly, willing to meet for 1-2-1s which made it an enjoyable environment to work in.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Tesco, i almost feel like the 10 weeks hasn't been enough as i am learning more and more each day. Everyone here has been so supportive and overall lovely, everyone is willing to put some time in with you so you can understand more about their role and what they do at Tesco. The projects were also very interesting with them having an impact on the business.
I'm enjoying the internship at Tesco on the whole. The internship focuses more on commercial aspects than advertised so the work is different to what i expected, but there are so many opportunities to learn about all the different aspects and roles in a huge company. Plus, flexi-hours helps me tailor the job to my own schedule and life.
At the time of writing I still have 2 more weeks remaining of my Stores Management Internship, but as a whole to date I have enjoyed the experience and feel that it has helped me to develop my leadership skills and gain a better awareness of the responsibilities a Manager has on a day to day basis, and I also feel I have gained an in depth understanding of how Tesco operates as a firm.
I have really enjoyed getting to grips with the role and getting stuck in. I've enjoyed getting to know such a big team and the way things work at Tesco. Learning so much so quickly has been really rewarding. Every day in store is different which keeps it interesting but sometimes daily tasks can get a bit repetitive.
I really enjoyed my internship working in Tesco's office within their finance division. The other interns and colleagues were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was given responsibility from the beginning which definitely allowed me to challenge myself and push myself outside my comfort zone. There were many other social activities to be involved in outside of work too.
The stores internship tested my leadership abilities, opened my eyes to a new way of looking at a managers role within the store and provided me with many new and different experiences. The store I was situated in was incredible, and the contact back to head office was constant and speedy - I never felt alone or unprepeared.
It was a great experience where I got to experience a diverse range of tasks. I felt that my work was valuable and had an impact on the team I was working within and on the company as a whole. I was also able to see a wide range of the business through the range of trips that were organised.
