My role as an intern within the financial team involved creating positive relationships with colleagues and fellow interns, training sessions, personal project and presentation and responsibilities for my team. These responsibilities included data collection, creating presentations, thinking of ideas and strategies, creating reports and learning how to check financial informations. Carried out a group presentation at the end of the internship to whole teams with a q&a session. Also kept up to do late log of what I learnt/ tasks I carried out.
I work with the red meat team and the wider MFPE team. This involves market research, analyzing customer data, looking at forecast models, meeting with suppliers and forming supplier relationships. I also work closely with my team and assist them with anything they may need. I sit in on meetings to understand the landscape of fresh produce and red meat specifically.
I sat across two different teams: Corporate Comms and Campaigns. The daily routine in Corporate Comms is influenced by incoming media enquiries, which require close collaboration with the Press Office. We also worked on longer-term projects, especially trading statements. Campaigns have a longer-term focus and involve a lot of proactive thinking. Day-to-day activities will focus on working towards those projects.
I worked in the fulfilment and distribution teams solving problems within the Tesco depots. As a technology product manager at Tesco you work closely with engineering teams and your business counterparts to either improve or maintain the systems within fulfilment. You create problem statements, do user research, and collect data. You then implement solutions for these problems using the data you have collected.
I worked alongside various other engineers building products based on stories and requirements outlined in tickets. Mostly working in Java, as well as Groovy for testing, I built parts of systems within API monoliths and microservices, as well as involving myself in tickets regarding more maintaining functionality of existing services. I felt as if I was really making an impact as a member of the team and getting my hands dirty with experience so to speak.
Beginning with the discovery phase of the product by talking with stakeholders to understand customers current experience with the product and what causes them annoyance. Then discuss with a technical team what the problem is so that technological workflows can be made for potential improvements. Then use AGILE to break down what needs to be done into small tasks and bring this to the technical team to execute
Working on a project in the In-store bakery department. I have meetings with my line manager and other members around the business and suppliers to help with my project, which consists of looking at Tesco Express stores. I work daily on my project, incorporating new ideas I have learnt throughout the day.
My role mainly consists of working on my project. This could involve anything from data collection via feedback forms to data analysis using SQL and Microsoft Excel. Aside from this, I have been involved in numerous other activities e.g. Charity Challenge, mentoring, 5 a side football tournament.

International Remote Working Case Management & Policy Review - helping manage the influx of IRW cases, I ensure all cases are accounted for, I communicate with colleagues, managers and People Team members – confirming receipt and output, send weekly updates and more. Annual Assignee Satisfaction Survey design & delivery - I engage with suppliers on vendor survey questions. I have reviewed and updated surveys sent to assignees. Helped create presentations for management to show the updated changes and more. I attend meetings, I shadow a different person in my team every week, attend the different upskilling sessions that my team go to and more!
I'm a project manager. So I'm responsible for a feature that we're developing in technology, and its my job to plan, track and update the project - ensuring people know what they need to do and help them to collaborate with the right people to solve problems. I lead two stand up meetings every week to update the progress of tasks we're doing, and interact with people from across the business.
No two days are ever the same. We support the channels to deliver their projects and there are multiple projects at once so you need to be able to priorities your time. You may also be working on delivering a workshop to line managers or supporting an absence or performance case. The role is extremely varied
