Throughout Placement I was given a variety of work that allowed me to gain experience on different areas of the software. I was also able to apply some of the knowledge gained at university to my work, and got to develop my interpersonal and presentation skills daily. I was also given the opportunity to learn coding, which allowed me to complete work in more areas of the software.
I found my placement to be very enjoyable. I have not only used skills that I acquired in the University, but also picked up a lot of other ones. The variety of work really kept it interesting for me and made me realise what I want to do later on after I graduate.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement as I was given a variety of task that are very challenging and stimulating. This meant I am constantly learning new skills and learning new stuff in order to complete the tasks given to me which made for a very pleasant experience as it meant that I am constantly developing in terms of personal and professional development. At the end of my placement, I honestly did not want to leave. It is without a doubt the best job I have ever had, in the best company there is, with the most incredible people I have met in my life as colleagues.
Working at Mentor Graphics was a highly enjoyable experience, and would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the digital side of engineering. The work i was given was interesting and varied, and i felt very valued by my colleagues.
I found the placement at Mentor Graphics extremely interesting. I got a lot of knowledge not only in the area I came from (Chemical Engineering / general Engineering), but also gained a lot of coding skills (I had almost no coding experience before). It's also a good opportunity to understand and see 'from the inside' how the huge software is made.
This work placement has given me a good insight into the development of software in the engineering sector. The working environment here is exceptionally welcoming and relaxed. I was given some challenging engineering work to do throughout my placement however there were times when the work was less challenged and a little repetitive.
I really enjoyed my placement here. I found that every day was a new challenge and an opportunity to learn something new, and widen my skill set. You are not left alone when facing these challenges however, as everyone is able and willing to help you.
I really enjoyed the variety of work I was involved in and the amount of involvement I had in the actual product. The team I worked in was great. Everyone was really welcoming and supportive and a joy to work with. I learned a lot about software development as well as enhanced my engineering knowledge.
The responsibilities given to me when working as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Mentor Graphics allowed me to enhanced and learn new skills which I will use throughout the rest of my studies as well as my future career. I also learnt a lot about software development which was completely new to me at the start of my placement.
I enjoyed seeing how the theory I'd learnt at University was used practically in industry and working alongside a range of employees. By getting to meet so many people at different offices I was able to build a much better picture of how a large company like Siemens operates and also get further insight into what kind of a career in engineering I want.
I enjoyed the placement very much. As it fits perfectly into my curriculum vitae and matches my qualifications and interests, I had and still have a really good time working for Siemens Financial Services in the UK. In the future, I would consider a permanent role in this business and this department.
I enjoyed the opportunities that working for Siemens gave me during the internship. Being a huge global company, there was never any hesitation to provide me with training or visits to sites. I was working out of the office at least once a week which gave a good change of scenery. The daily work was interesting and educated me in the sector of railway signaling, although technical work was hard to come by as it was all quite highly skilled work.
I have enjoyed working at Siemens because I am treated as an employee rather than just a student intern. It's been a very valuable experience to experience day to day life in an office and learn about an industry I didn't know anything about. There have been lots of opportunities to gain new experiences and learn new skills.
I have really enjoyed the placement, meeting lots of new people and getting involved in lots of different types of work. I found the people very friendly and welcoming, with lots of apprentices, interns and graduates to make friends with. I also felt like the internship has taught me lots of useful skills and given me an insight into future work possibilities.
I've really enjoyed my time during my placement; I was very fortunate that my job was very varied, which really suited me. I was able to work on a range of projects with lots of different people from throughout the business and I also had the opportunity to travel to a number of different events and conferences.
