I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Siemens, and would highly recommend it to any undergraduate. The year taught me a lot more than I expected, everything from how a big business runs to understanding the processes and detail of how an MRI works.
Enjoyed it with the manager and team I am surrounded in on a daily basis. However the exposure has been rather scattered and with two different line managers this has been challenging during my internship. I enjoyed having the other graduates in the company but more networking can be done
I enjoyed my Year in Industry a lot because it allowed me to be involved with many working projects that make an impact - you’re not there to make the tea! I went into the placement knowing nothing and left with a wealth of knowledge and experience with the Industry.
I enjoyed working with the team but the work wasn't enjoyable or challenging which was disappointing. Wasn't given engineering tasks was given more admin tasks to reduce other colleagues workload. The job also didn't deliver on the best bits of the job description which led me to accept the placement which was another thing which has left me feeling disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my placement - each day was different and the range of skills I have picked up are amazing. I have learnt so much and my confidence has been really boosted. I would recommend working for Siemens to anyone and as a company they really push for your development.
The placement was varied but only because I sought out opportunities myself. Support was limited throughout and often I had to ask or bring it to my managers attention. The work was fun mostly and working across different areas meant networking was vital and is fantastic for taking forward. The office colleagues were excellent in supporting me
I really loved my placement at Siemens this year. I was given full responsibility, and treated like any other team member - something I did not originally expect from a placement year. I have learnt just as much from this one year, as I have in two years at university. An invaluable experience.
I've really enjoyed my internship so far, I've been doing work that's valuable and not just jobs that have been created to keep me busy. At some points it got a little repetitive but my manager was great in helping me get involved with other things to mix my day to day job up a little.
