Very nice company culture with helpful peers. Many young people mean an attraction for graduates to start carreer there. Everyone works honestly, there’s no pressure from the bosses to stress you. You do your work in your own pace (even though home office is not a thing yet). Definitely recommend
My placement to begin with was a bit of a struggle as no one really found the time for me so I was left with little or nothing to do not learning at all. However I took it upon myself to speak to more relevant people and I managed to secure myself a place within a team more suited to my needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement, the variety of work and the sheer exposure made it an exciting experience. The people were without exception willing to help and impart knowledge where ever they could. the mixture of practical and office based work gave the placement real depth, as well as the variety of offices and departments allowed one to see the bigger picture aspect of the companies role fulfilling projects
An internship at Siemens has been a really fantastic way to spend the summer. Siemens has provided a positive work environment to which I was welcomed to by my colleagues. As Siemens has a network of interns, graduates and apprentices it has been very enjoyable to share the experience with people in the same position.
I did the placement last year in the same office of Siemens Rail electrification, however last year I enjoyed it more as I was much busier, working on three main projects across the three months. This year I haven't had as much to do and the things I have been working on have been less defined.
I did a 12 week internship at Siemens in the Finance department and I can't believe how fast the last 12 weeks have gone past, it was one amazing time I spent here and I only wish I could do a placement here for a longer period of time in future.
The internship varies a significant amount based on the department you are allocated. Despite all applying for the same role, all the interns have varying experiences dependent on where they work. I found my experience sounded very menial compared to the other interns. The majority of my time was spent copying and pasting from spreadsheets, and although the majority of my team were lovely and really helpful, the projects I had were draining and I found the majority of my experience very boring, and I struggled to get excited.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. It has been great working with so many different people in such a large company. Experiencing real life projects rather than theoretical studying. I would have preferred if there were more interns in my office to help each other as we are all at the same stage
My work involved being in constant contact with product owners, as a developer I can really appreciate when I'm set in place with a cooperating client and in good communication with them. They made me feel very welcome and I started working at the Siemens Standard quickly. Credit goes to my manager Mr. Siemon Clarke, who has been an inspiration to continue to do my best at this job. Great placement and got a lot more out of it than I expected. Would love to work in a tech company like this one for such a great work experience and office environment.
I did not enjoy this internship at all. I was left most of the time without much work to do and it was quite difficult to let my manager know as he was always in meetings. The internship was not structured properly and therefore was not enjoyable. The placement was extremely boring and not challenging.
My placement was both enjoyable and productive. I was given actual work to do from the first day and found it really interesting. Because of this I greatly enjoyed my time working at Siemens as I felt like i was contributing and because I was given engaging tasks to do.
The social aspect of my placement was incredible, excellent networking opportunities and really good office vibe In terms of practical engineering work less outstanding, but I've still felt challenged to a satisfying level
Although this is my first proper job, Siemens has been very welcoming from day 1 and I have been treated as a valuable addition to the department that I am currently working in. Surprisingly, I feel like I learnt more than I have at university!
As an engineer, I was working at the overhaul department for the small gas turbine side of the Siemens. Everyone was welcoming and receiving my computer equipment was done within the first week. I liked that my placement was with a engineering related department where I saw a true insight into the engineering lifestyle.
My internship at SFS was fantastic! My team was exceptionally good at giving me tasks to do, which had a tangible, positive impact on the company. My team was very welcoming, which has made me look forward to coming to work every day. There has also been plenty of opportunities to further develop myself should I choose.
I enjoyed the internship greatly! I learned so much that no one teaches you inside school or university. Many people will say learning never really starts until you have left formalized education, now I would completely agree. I've been exposed to business life and it's far different than anything I've done previously.
