As a first proper job, I was relatively anxious and had fears about my placement. Since day one, my team have been supportive and friendly and this has been invaluable in my experience. Even when the work has been less enjoyable, the people around the office improved the morale and helped me enjoy the days as they flew by!
I have had a great time during my placement at Siemens, it has provided me a lot of different opportunities and I have learned a lot more than I originally thought I would. The placement year has improved my skills greatly and I would recommend it to anyone. I was always kept busy and everything I worked on was interesting.
I absolutely loved my placement from day one. My managers took me to the meetings to give the exposure of different projects and gave a task regarding those projects to complete and get involved with. Involvement! Great team! All experience colleagues who I sit around with and had the chance to learn from and learn with. They all are constantly learning which made my placement even more fun as its a role where learning never stops and that's exactly what i want in my role after graduating. No 10/10 because there is always room from improvement and the start of my internship was a bit slow as in getting access to the different files.
I have found my placement year to be the perfect mix of challenging and comfortable. I value the opportunity I was given to develop myself; it's extremely satisfying to look back at when I started the year and see how much more confident I am and how much I have learnt.
I enjoyed the work for as much as there was available in my department. Unfortunately, the year I joined the company was a quieter year in regards to Orders with there being a high president on renewable energy, rather than fossil fuels. The work I was able to undertake was extremely interesting, provided me with a great understanding of the product and gave me the chance to interact with multiple departments and customers.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Siemens in Lincoln. I found the work engaging and everyday provided me with new challenges which I could sink my teeth into, as a result of this no 2 days were ever the same and the hours flew by as I was constantly busy with work to do.
I have loved my time at Siemens - I have made so many amazing friends in my fellow interns and colleagues. My role is in Entry Level Talent which is related to HR, and I have loved being able to explore this as a potential career option that I otherwise may have discounted after I graduated. It has been an amazing experience that I wouldn't change for the world, and I am so glad I did it.
I very much enjoyed this placement at Siemens, based in Manchester. I was fortunate to have many opportunities that were both inside and outside of my role. I was able to develop all my skills to better my career as well as have a good time doing it.
Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Mentor Graphics. I have had the opportunity to learn an entirely new skill set in coding, that I previously had very little experience in, and discovered it is definitely the career path I want to go down. I have been given several very interesting projects to work on during my placement, all of which have required me to solve problems and think outside the box. Although it was rare, there have been occasions where I was given "chores" to do which felt like they were only given to me because I was an intern, though this did not happen very often and only happened during very busy periods.
I really enjoyed my placement at Mentor, A Siemens Business. It was possible to get involved in a wide variety of different tasks and be given responsibility to deliver projects working alongside co-workers. It was satisfying to know the work I completed will have a lasting effect on the company.
I enjoyed my placement at Mentor greatly. There were many opportunities to get involved with different projects, and I was strongly encouraged to spend time learning new concepts, and sharpening my skills. It was an extremely rewarding experience knowing that the work I have done during the placement will have a direct impact on the product.
Working in Mentor Graphics has been a new and enjoyable experience. I have been able to get internal exposure in an Engineering company and therefore, had the chance to see how the work life as an engineer could be once I graduate. I also have met some interesting people and developed my working skills further. Most importantly, the placement has helped me in making my mind clearer in terms of what job I would like to get into.
This placement provided me with a valuable insight into the development and applications of computer aided engineering software, although at times tedious, the work was engaging and applied. The office atmosphere was very pleasant, casual dress code, flexible working hours, kitchen and being surrounded by experienced friendly people, this certainly made the year more enjoyable.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my year at Mentor and felt like I learnt a huge amount. During the year I was exposed and involved in a huge range of projects covering many aspects of marketing while also being given a great deal of responsibility while being very welcomed into the team.
As my first experience of a proper 9 to 5 job, I can say that this internship has overall been a rather enjoyable experience and a great introduction into what working life can be like. During my time here I have had the opportunity to experience many different aspects of the business.
