I had sufficient work to keep me busy during my placement which kept me occupied throughout, this made the placement more enjoyable. Also working with other interns of a closer age to me made the experience better. Having other interns in my department was beneficial as we could share the experience.
When I first came to Siemens, I did not know what to expect, this being my first internship. My goal was to learn as much as possible, but being aware that there is a lot of technical knowledge I lack because of my limited work experience, I was a bit hesitant and afraid that I would not be able to achieve that as I thought that I would only slow peoples' work pace down. But during my time here at Siemens I learned more than I expected I would and this internship helped me gain more confidence in myself and my abilities and, in my opinion, this is the best outcome.
I enjoyed most of my placement here, everyone in the office and throughout the company was so kind and happy to help and talk. Some of the tasks I was given were abit simple compared to some of the other interns there but I still enjoyed the placement and learnt alot
I really enjoyed my placement. I feel that within the eight weeks I spent with Siemens I learnt a lot about not only the business but also about how large businesses work as a whole. I felt that the work I was doing was beneficial and not just assigned to me as a time filler.
My placement was good from the onset. I managed to increase my network in the office, however, my task was quite dull and I found it quite hard to get other interesting work to do around the office. I got the chance to do an end of placement presentation which is always good experience.
I really enjoyed my work placement at Siemens. I enjoyed meeting and working with lots of new people and gaining a better insight into what a job in my chosen field would entail. The tasks were sometimes a bit monotonous but it was overall a very valuable experience and I learned a lot.
I loved the internship. The amount of responsibility that I was given in my department from the get go was great and I felt adequately supported above and beyond what I expected throughout the whole of my internship. The team was welcoming and treated me as a full employee, something that is rare in companies in my experience.
I really enjoyed my time in Manchester over the summer and would enjoy a job with the team in the future. There are plenty of young people working at Siemens, in Manchester, on placements/years in industry/grad programs within different departments. The same can't be said for the Newcastle offices, however. It's a much smaller site so doesn't have the same social set up. Most people are 30+ and male.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time completing a summer placement at Siemens Mobility, working as a Project Engineer Intern within the New Technology Team. The people are very friendly and helpful when you have many questions. I received a sufficient amount of training and help from the team I was in to have a good time completing this internship.
As a Human Factors intern at Siemens Rail Automation, I really enjoyed my placement overall, I was able to learn about the rail industry and understand how large companies work. I have learnt a lot in terms of human factors especially in the rail industry, and have been able to apply some of the knowledge from my years at uni to real world projects, including going to meetings with stakeholders and doing focus groups with mock-ups as well as CAD analysis.
The work overall was really varied in terms of workload and often the work itself was using really basic skills that could've been done with just GCSEs. It became more enjoyable when I moved to the Crossrail team being able to go on and help a huge project like that but even then the initial skillset needed for the work was very low and just felt like I was not being challenged/used enough.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Siemens this past year. I actually started here as a Summer intern but I really wanted to continue the work I was doing so managed to negotiate an extension to my contract as a 'year in industry'. I have been lucky to be involved in multiple projects with different sorts of work involved, allowing me to understand what kind of job role I want in the future.
Working at Siemens has been very enjoyable and educative. I have acquired practical and theoretical knowledge in the production of small industrial gas turbines. I have been exposed to a manufacturing environment and have learnt how to execute projects effectively bearing in mind the safety considerations required at each step.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Siemens. I have been given more responsibility than I could have ever imagined. The role gave me a real insight into my future career, I have learnt valuable skills that will assist me in the future and have learnt a lot about myself, both positively and aspects in which I need to work on.
This year was probably the best one! I have learnt so much not only about the industry and the role but also about myself as a person. I was a bit intimidated as Siemens is a big company but it felt like home from the first day and it become not so scary anymore.
I have really enjoyed my placement at Siemens. I have been presented with many different opportunities and activities to involve myself in and feel just as valued as a permanent member of the team. As well as learning more than I ever thought I could have done in a years placement, I also been able to construct a professional network which is a great bonus.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Siemens. I have had an amazing team of people supporting me throughout the year and it was a fantastic experience overall. Doing a year long internship has helped my confidence massively and I definitely feel more prepared for getting a job after university.
I have really enjoyed my placement year. It has given me a real insight into the business environment and how it operates and has taught me a great deal about what I may want to do in the future. I have been given some really good opportunities that I believe has made my year even better, for example, huge responsibilities over managing change management project and being able to lead a customer project too.
I don't think that i could have chosen a better company for my placement year. I finished in a couple of days ago and I already miss my job. It is something I will take back to university with me and hopefully will be able to rejoin the company as a graduate in the future.
I very much enjoyed working for Mentor Graphics. The internship allowed me to explore a side of engineering that I like and wish to continue studying at University. Throughout the placement I have been recognised and rewarded for my work. I was treated like any other employee and thoroughly enjoyed working with the people in the office.
