For the summer internship we were given a first week of training for both the whole company and then in our specific sectors and so in risk it involved online meets discussing values and general training. We had a dragons den project also to demonstate some of our group work with other peers and also shadowed members in the firm already and helped them with any work they offered.
Assisting the audit team with the audit of financial statements e.g. performing testing over a financial statement line item such as revenue. Attending meetings with the team and clients to gain an understanding of the business and communicating to the client what is needed to perform testing.
This role involves attending meetings with your engagement team and/or client and filling out the standardised Audit excel documents that complete relevant EGAs (evidence gathering activities) such as substantive analytics, test of details and so on. These EGAs differ for the relevant FSLIs (financial statement line items). In order to fill out some of these EGAs you have to use the client invoices, bills, bank statements and so on in order to corroborate the testing.
