Working on the external audit of many listed and non listed companies. This involves performing testing over a companies financial statements to determine whether they show a true and fair view financially and have been appropriately prepared in line with accounting standards. This means that i've been exposed to alot of different areas as there is lots of testing that needs to be performed in an audit. I communicate to the client contacts on a daily basis whether this be emails or video calls and have had lots of exposure to people in senior finance roles such as financial controllers and directors.
On a day-to-day basis, I work within a team to complete an audit to the highest quality. On each client, I am given specific areas of the audit to complete that are appropriate for my level of knowledge and experience. Otherwise, we are in college studying towards our ACA qualification and completing exams throughout the year.
Has been a split between studying for exams through Kaplan college and performing regular audit work. As a new joiner, you are introduced to the more simple concepts/requirements first, but this gets built on and you will be given different areas of the audit to work on.

On a daily basis, I would generally just help with whatever my seniors needed help with. This included cross checking data sheets and ensuring everything was correct at the start of my placement but nearer to the end, I was trusted more to carry out my own auditing analysis. There were a few bigger projects we worked on throughout my time there. I got to interact with the team quite a bit but did not really get to interact with people outside the team on a daily basis.
My role includes managing the daily trackers and sending out emails of the documents that we need, liaising with the client. I work in the Digital Audit section and I have worked on the S of D control. i enjoyed my time there because I have learnt a lot about new software and the ERP softwares that the clients use such as SAP and Oracle. I have learnt new things which makes me feel good.
Daily tasks included confirmation of addresses and emails, composition of letters of confirmation, sending out the emails, summary of contracts and minutes of meetings. Internal interactions included accomplishing numerous trainings and e-learnings as well as daily interaction with auditors and senior associates. External interactions included contacting contractors and client's banks in order to conduct the follow up procedure and answer any questions about the confirmation letters. I have participated in a number of projects for such clients as Pepsi Co, Hundai, Melon Fashion Group, L'Oreal and Beko.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at PwC! Coming from a non-tech background, I was eager to kickstart my career in technology but I was doubtful about my lack of technical skills. PwC really helped me build my confidence by giving me access to online courses to train and build up all technical skills needed for the role, ranging from coding in Python, to web development with HTML/CSS, to mapping out business processes using BPMN. I was also very lucky to work with great people which made the experience even more enjoyable!
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with varied opportunities for travel and different work in different teams. I had the opportunity to undertake training, give training later in the year and to attend social events to get to know my team better and I was able to raise any concerns about moving projects to get a lot of exposure to different types of projects that the firm undertakes. I had a great year and would return.
I enjoyed my placement at PwC to a great extent. Having the opportunity to work for such a prestigious company was a great experience, from the highly professional facilities to the excellent staff members you meet, there was much to be pleased with. As an intern, I felt valued as a colleague and I was provided with a multitude of opportunities to develop my skills. This will certainly benefit me in my degree studies and future career path.
