What I enjoyed about my internship: Everyone was very friendly and there is a collaborative atmosphere where you are encouraged to ask questions and approach people so you really felt part of a team that was supportive of each other rather than everyone trying to backstab each other to get ahead. Training program was very comprehensive and very well structured. There were good resources and good teaching What I did not enjoy: Due to a quiet period I was not given enough work to do by my team so I was left idle for significant periods, having to create work for myself. There was not enough on the job training as people were too busy with their own work to train you to do something for the first time and would instead prefer to do it themselves leaving you with no work and no training.
Overall the internship was a brilliantly organised, well structured and provided a great insight into my department and its role in the wider business. The most enjoyable aspects for me were both the amount I learned in such a short space of time, and the experience of fitting really well into a team - I didn't want to go back to university by the end.
I really enjoyed my time at Nomura, it has been such a big learning curve. Everyone here has been extremely approachable and supportive, they want you to ask questions and learn. The culture here is amazing, everyone feels included as part of the family no matter what background. Overall, I would definitely recommend.
The internship scheme is well thought out, Nomura treat their interns no different to how they treat their staff. From their mentoring system to their regular talks/ Charity events / intern socials the experience was exceptional. The level of exposure within 10 weeks of working at the company is so valuable. Nomura invest a lot in their interns.
I very much so enjoyed this insight programme at Nomura. I found each day to be genuinely enjoyable and there was also a lot to gain from the programme. This programme provided a great insight into the bank as well as a feel for the broader financial sector. I found the recruiting team to be very helpful and there were plenty of opportunities to network with employees.
I found this insight programme to be really enjoyable and each day provided different opportunities and insights into the different sectors within the bank. The week started with some icebreaker tasks in order to get to know the other interns, as well as welcome drinks on the first evening. Throughout the week the HR team were really friendly and made you feel welcome to ensure you were having an enjoyable time at Nomura.
I have really enjoyed my stay at the firm. I have learnt a lot about the company and it gave me a brief idea of how I will implement my degree to real life. I believe it was a really good push for my future career and education. Aside from work, the company is very active, there are a range of activities one can join in after working hours.
It was a fantastic program that gave us a huge amount of 'hands on' experience and exposure to what it could be like working here. Everyone was extremely friendly and I learnt so much in a very short period of time. I am very happy to have participated in the program.
I enjoyed pklacement greatly. The team I’m in made good friends with me and there was always a very sociable atmosphere. I enjoyed what I was doing on a day to day basis and have learnt a lot of skill relevant to my course throughout my year. I’ve also enjoyed having the opportunity living in London
The 10+ month placement was incredibly insightful into how an Investment Bank operates on a day-to-day basis. With minimal specific financial experience, I believe the training in place is good prior to starting the placement and provided a high-level overview into the sector. I thought the placement was challenging which meant it was also rewarding and it demands you put in hours, effort and interest in order to make the most of your time at Nomura.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Nomura. The main reason is that I was able to get as much assistance/guidance as I can in terms of my progression and self-development. I was also lucky enough to work on both development and business analysis therefore was exposed to many different sides of technology from my role.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 12 month placement at Nomura. There were 16 of us in total in the yearly intake, this was a great situation to be in as there were 15 others in the exact same position as me. It was also nice to be incorporated in with the summer internship students over the June-August period as this gave us a chance to interact with others.
