Really enjoyed doing the internship. Great team of people at Nomura and was set challenging and exciting work that will be hopefully be used by the team after I leave. Lots of opportunity for social activity (welcome drinks, mid-term social, leaving drinks) as well as the opening of the terrace every Thursday.
Overall I am happy. At some points there was very little work to do, but most of the time I could get involved by helping other people in the team, or spend time networking with other divisions. Excellent social events organised by HR. Team was very helpful in on boarding
A fantastic internship. Plenty of different projects to work on across the 10 weeks and I was always busy. I had the opportunity to develop a range of technology skills and financial knowledge. The opportunity to learn and explore different areas of the bank as well was a real benefit.
The day-long insight was an eye-opening and engaging first introduction into the world of finance. It was well suited to the sixth form audience, as it presented the key divisions within the bank without assuming any prior knowledge. The particular emphasis put on networking, especially digital networking, showed an impressive dedication to keeping the insight as contemporary as possible.
Good role with lots of learning and meaningful work, great building and facility's and all members of staff, at-least in technology are really friendly. Lots of opportunities to go to trade shows, concerts and compete in sporting events sponsored by the company. For example free 02 box tickets and funded tough-mudder attempts.
I enjoyed my placement immensely, I learned so much for the work I completed and people I completed with. The atmosphere while at work was amazing, so chilled out, I never felt too stressed or under pressure to do anything which is really reassuring if, like me, you hadn't been in such an environment before.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my year at Nomura. I have had excellent support from my manager, team and colleagues and have been given a great amount of responsibility which I didn't think I would get as an intern. The culture has allowed me to take part in extra curricular activities, including Public Speaking, which have helped me improve my soft skills.
I thought the placement scheme was great. The people were lovely, the location and the firm were great and they treated placement students like full time employees - you almost forget you have to go back to uni! I felt as though the work I was doing was valued and thoroughly enjoyed my time.
Nomura have offered a well rounded programme. Introductory talks were useful. Only downside is that there is not much exposure to other departments. This was something that I had to work on myself. Networking with other teams has been a fantastic opportunity which has helped me in my role and also allowed me what teams I would like to work with in the future.
I enjoyed this Explore Nomura programme, it was very complete and interesting. We learned about the different divisions of this investment bank. It was a valuable learning experience. We got the chance to discover first-hand what it is really like to work in Nomura. The networking sessions were very useful.
The insight day was very enjoyable. I met many other like minded people who I am still in contact with, explored different opportunities that are available to further my career and I also learnt more about the firm as there was always an opportunity to ask questions. Overall the event was great fun but I just wish it lasted longer.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the people and the interactive sessions. We met a really wide variety of people, all of which had different experiences at Nomura - really good insight. However, the restructuring that was talking place highlighted the level of automation at the firm. Therefore, throughout the week I kept questioning job security if I ever came to work at Nomura as a graduate.
I enjoyed the spring explore programme. I found it insightful and interesting and the organisers ensured that we met with people from all across the bank's divisions. This helped give us a well-rounded opinion of the bank. The speakers were also sure to tell us how Nomura differs from other European and American banks and why the culture is better at Nomura.
