I enjoyed the experience of meeting my future colleagues and experiencing life within the law firm. Although a couple of weeks is not representative of life as a trainee, it was valuable to understand how day to day operations were conducted and it was a great way to meet other students.
I really enjoyed the insight! I found the atmosphere of the firm wonderful and the quality of work/clients very high. The effort that was put into the organising of the scheme made me feel like Hogan Lovells had really thought about us as individuals (from the small touch to us being paired with a mentor from our University) and to having a broad range of events to complement all our interests.
Having not had any legal experience prior to this vacation scheme, it proved incredibly useful! It gave me a thorough insight into life as a trainee solicitor, and Hogan Lovells as a firm. We were given legal work to complete (mostly research tasks) which help give an idea of life as a trainee. Coming from a non-law background it helped me make my decision to pursue a career in corporate law.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Hogan Lovells. As well as being put in three different seats so we could experience different aspects of the firm and its different practice areas, we were also treated to many activities including dragon boating and dinner at the Ivy. While we worked hard during this placement, we also had a lot of fun.
I found the Vacation Scheme at Hogan Lovells to be very enjoyable. The Recruitment Team and staff at the firm were extremely welcoming, ensuring that they took the time to share their experiences with us and involving us in interesting and meaningful work. There was a good balance between formal presentations and workshops and I throughly enjoyed my time spent at the firm!
I had a brilliant time during the scheme. It allowed me to throughly experience the firm's culture, get involved with different matters and tasks, and most of all, get to know some truly inspiring people. I would recommend the scheme to anyone who wishes to get an inside perspective of the firm in order to make an informed decision.
I found the scheme to be both very enjoyable, and particularly useful as an insight to the firm. The three-week scheme is longer than many, but allowed me to sit in three departments (corporate, international arbitration, and IP), so I was able to experience the breadth of expertise the firm has to offer.
I have really enjoyed my stay at the firm. I have learnt a lot about the company and it gave me a brief idea of how I will implement my degree to real life. I believe it was a really good push for my future career and education. Aside from work, the company is very active, there are a range of activities one can join in after working hours.
I very much enjoyed this insight- I found it to be well organised and gave a clear insight into what a career in commercial law entails. The scheme incorporated socials as well as talks put on by the firm. The socials acted as a great networking opportunity and provided an opportunity to ask questions in an informal setting.

I really enjoyed my time at Hogan Lovells. The scheme provided an insight into life at a commercial law firm and what I would be doing as a trainee at Hogan Lovells. From the first day, I was welcomed into the firm by partners, associates and trainees and enjoyed working alongside them as well as my fellow vacation schemers.
Having completed a number of vacation schemes the Hogan Lovells vacation scheme was by far the best one I have completed. It had the right balance across the spectrum, social vs work, challenging, insightful and extremely beneficial not only for legal experience but also academically. I thoroughly recommend this vacation scheme.
I really enjoyed it because the firm seemed interested in teaching us a variety of different tools and genuinely preparing us for a career as a solicitor. I enjoyed the challenges of the experience and always felt that there was help on hand, and as a result I felt like I got a lot out of the experience.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks with Hogan Lovells- I found the work was interesting and varied and particularly enjoyed my time with supervisors where it was possible to ask loads of questions about law and the firm. The social arrangements for the week were very fun and everyone at the firm was very welcoming. The structured seminars and sessions were very well organised and I learned a lot during these. At the end of the two weeks, I was convinced that I wanted to work for the firm.
Having done a number of vacation schemes at different firms, I can honestly say that I enjoyed the Hogan Lovells experience the most. The vacation scheme was very well structured, with the perfect balance between professional development sessions and social events. The work was top drawer and incredibly interesting, and the people that I worked with and met were supportive and genuinely interested in getting to know me.
