Overall I enjoyed my time at Eaton once I started to be given work and responsibility. It was difficult to start off with as I had no work to do. If I was given work it would be small tasks that would not take me long to complete or enhance my skills. Once I had spoken to my manager about what I wanted to gain from the placement, the situation changed and allowed me to start enjoying it.
In general, I enjoyed my work placement a lot although there were days when I did not enjoy it. The workload varied and I had a large level of responsibilities which put pressure on me. My team in general suffered a large amount of pressure therefore this reflected on me too.
I really enjoyed my internship. It was challenging and often fast paced, keeping up with changes in production demands and priorities, but hugely rewarding when solutions were found and implemented or new products were launched into the business. It was enjoyable to work with lots of different people, from experienced engineers, supply chain managers and factory operators.
I have greatly enjoyed my time with Eaton working as part of the life safety division. My year has been very engaging, I have learned a great deal about both my subject (electronic engineering) and about how an engineering business operates. Throughout the year I have been involved with various projects and activities while receiving training in the form of on the job training and by attending various training days organised by the Eaton internship program. There has not been a single day where I did not want to come into work, I enjoy my role and the work that I do, I would very much like to return to a similar role after finishing my degree at university.
I enjoyed the placement at Eaton very much indeed. I was given lots of responsibility and tasks/ projects that had a real impact upon the company. During the placement I have learnt many new skills and also developed and improved others that I originally already considered to be strong. Examples of skills I have really improved during my time at Eaton are my communication skills, especially when talking to foreign colleagues, my presentation skills and also my proof reading ability. These three especially will be very useful for when I return to university and also in my future career(s).
My placement was thoroughly enjoyable, I was presented with many opportunities and always received encouragement in all task I completed. The yearlong placement with Eaton helped me to develop a variety of skills and helped me to develop an understanding of the dynamics of a work place and working a nine till five job.
I found my internship a challenge at times but once a difficult task, project or presentation was accomplished successfully, this benefited my self esteem enabling effective personal development in understanding the corporate environment at Eaton. I enjoyed the charity, wellness and social opportunities working with the local community and playing football on Monday nights with work colleagues from the plant. The applicants expectation should be high because the internship requires an enthusiastic work ethic to match the demands of Eaton's philosophy of performing under pressure and ensuring consistent quality for loyal customers. If I had the opportunity to do the internship again, I definitely would because the skills and experience are going to be vital in preparing me for my final year at University and has provided me an insight of the industry which will benefit me when choosing my career path once I have completed my degree.
I was given a real life job and treated the same as any other employee, this meant that a lot of the work I did was not hugely exciting or enjoyable however I did get a good level of job satisfaction from the work that I did and I was able to feel proud about how I was contributing to my team. some of the work I did was genuinely interesting and fun but there were also days where I had to work through some very boring tasks.
My internship with Eaton was very eye opening and educational, this, in turn, made it enjoyable as I got to really develop my understanding of how a large, professional and varied business organisation such as Eaton works. Additionally being given the chance to work closely with other interns was really fun.
My placement started off very well, I had the opportunity to develop as a intern. this opportunity was given to me by my line managers Sam Mudge and Ben Rooke, they always encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone which stimulated my development even further.
I really enjoyed my placement year at Eaton as an operations intern in Cwmbran based in South Wales. I was given huge responsibilities from an early stage such as running production, supervising an evening shift that was put in place due to high customer demands and working in other departments.
I really enjoyed my placement year at Eaton. The learning experience is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone, as well as learning on the job, the business provides you with countless hours of training with an external provider in areas such as presentation skills, communication skills and time management. I was given exposure to the areas I wanted to learn and the business went out of its way to give me exposure to areas I would not normally see in my role such as legal compliance. The people I worked with were the best and I will remember them forever, I have made amazing relationships and will definitely stay in touch. I had the opportunity to work with some of the best professionals in their field and grew immensely as a result. Everybody in the business is so genuine and really does want to see you achieve and go far.
I felt like I learnt a lot on my placement and i enjoyed finally being able to put my university knowledge to use. Admittedly, the first few months I did not enjoy as a lot of the time there was not much for me to do but once I got involved in a project I was able to do valuable work
I did enjoy placement after looking back at the year. I think day to day I was quite often a little bored as I found my day-day tasks a little monotonous. I think that however, this was partly my fault as I had unrealistic expectations of what I would be doing. Nontheless I did really enjoy placment because of the skills I can take away into a future career
