My placement was enjoyable in that I had a lot of opportunities within work to progress, and to take on different task within my department, as well as to lead the direction of which projects I had. However the downside that I had was being the sole intern at my site but I was quickly able to make other friends here.
The placement was a great learning experience and I certainly realised how much I had grown toward the end. I enjoyed the variety of work greatly, being able to do bits of work for other departments and not being tied to my function (engineering) widened my developing skillset. It wasn't as stressful as university!
Overall I have really enjoyed the year. There have been times I was sat around with not much to do but this was rare. The majority of the time I was working on real projects that were having an impact on the factory processes. Also really enjoyed feeling part of the a team and feeling valued.
I very much enjoyed my year in industry. Throughout the year I was given a range of tasks related to the role I applied for, which allowed me to experience a broad spectrum of learning experiences. In addition to this none of the jobs I was given were 'filler tasks', it was all valued and needed work.
It was a nice and demanding experience which I can say I definitely enjoyed as it contributed to my development in many ways. I assume it changes a lot depending on the site and industry in which you are placed, but for me it was a good induction to the reality in manufacturing engineering in aerospace.
I enjoyed the my work placement as a whole. It was real-life jobs, with real-life opportunities, with real-life consequences. The items that I designed in my office you could see them being made on mass production lines. It was very much peaks and troughs, as there were times of boredom. Also living out for the first time was an enjoyable experience.
It was a highly rewarding year, given plenty of responsibility on meaningful tasks as part of an excellent team. The value of the tasks I was completing was obvious to company, however as with any job there was also a touch of day-to-day monotony.
My placement at Eaton has been an excellent experience, which I would highly recommend. Throughout the placement I received a variety of work in different areas of Engineering, including test development and design. The intern program provides a series of training sessions to develop soft skills, such as project management and communication. These were very beneficial throughout the year and were also a good opportunity to get to know the other interns working at Eaton.
I have really enjoyed my year with Eaton, I have been given valuable and extensive industry experience with a vast range of responsibilities throughout the year. I have been provided with support and encouragement from my manager and the intern program manager and feedback that has helped me develop over the year.
Throughout my time at Eaton I was given the opportunity by my department to work on several projects which were often very demanding. The department I was based in was very supportive in terms of my development. However, the site as a whole was under going several extreme changes whilst I was there, this impacted how much I enjoyed the placement and if I had worked with a different department my overall experience would have been worse.
I was given the opportunity to get involved with various hands on projects, and been able to make a real difference in the plant. I have treated like a full time employee, and have been given real engineering tasks and responsibility. No shortage of opportunities
I had my frustrations throughout my placement, however I have felt that it has been a valuable and real experience. The placement in the end was worth the effort and wouldn't have been a realistic experience, if I didn't have my frustrations. There are minor things Eaton could do the make the experience better, which is why an 7/10 is a good mark.
I thoroughly enjoyed my year with Eaton. The work I contributed was significant in promoting the growth of the division. I had the opportunity to get involved with multiple projects across the business, travel the country to work at multiple sites within the division, collaborate with a range of departments and work closely with senior management on a regular basis.
As a HR intern I wasn't expecting the level of responsibility I have had over the last year. The responsibility and the constant work flow of interesting and diverse work made the placement enjoyable and a learning experience all in one. It was challenging due to the busy environment, but it made achieving things even more rewarding.
I really enjoyed my work placement in Product Management over the past 12 months, both from a personal and professional perspective. Everyone in the office is extremely approachable and happy to help, this made everyday an enjoyable experience. In addition to this, it was a great learning experience as I could tailor my placement in the direction I wanted it to go.
Overall, I really enjoyed my placement year and have no regrets about choosing to do my placement at Eaton. You can really tailor your tasks within your role to your degree/interests and if there is another department you would like to try and take on work for, Eaton is very flexible when allowing you to discover what roles you would most enjoy when searching for a graduate role.
It was a nice and demanding experience which I can say I definitely enjoyed as it contributed to my development in many ways. I assume it changes a lot depending on the site and industry in which you are placed, but for me it was a good induction to the reality in manufacturing engineering in aerospace.
