The year overall was very enjoyable. I took part in some large scale project s and I was introduced to many skills which will benefit me in my last year at uni and the work life in general. However there was occasions where I was sat around with not a lot to do.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Eaton. The skills and knowledge gained throughout the year were invaluable and I was surrounded by a supportive and welcoming team. I was lucky enough to work across 3 different Eaton sites, so I was always kept busy and had a great deal of responsibility from the very beginning.
Everyday I learnt something new at my placement. I enjoyed making the 50-mile drive to work everyday because I knew my work would be valued by all at the placement. I got to take on day to day responsibilities that an electrical engineer is expected to do. As well as being fortunate enough to be working with world renowned engineers who tell the rest of the world how to test products.
I throughly enjoyed working in Cwmbran as an hardware design engineer. The role was engaging and allowed me to learn how a major R&D department functions. The placement allowed me to learn about the development of new productions from the initial design spec to manufacturing the product. I gained knowledge outside the scope of my degree which I deem to be invaluable when searching for employment in the future.
My time completing my placement was incredible, the help and support I received massively aided my initial introduction into a business role and continued throughout my placement. With a large and varied amount of tasks that kept me deeply involved in my role, teaching me many new business and engineering skills that I will be able to further develop in the future.
I enjoyed my job, during my placement I was involved with a large range of meaningful projects which gave me good experience at being able to decide where I would want to progress with my future career. The site as a whole had a good atmosphere with local social activities arranged more informally by staff than the sites HR.
Overall, I enjoyed my placement as I have learned a lot and I was able to experience how it feels to work in an office environment. The job was repetitive at times but I was able to get involved in extra activities like the Wellness Team. The major issue was the fact that my department was understaffed and it caused a lot of frustration among the team.
I loved my placement experience. It was such an insight into the company that i have never heard before. Everyone was so welcoming and the structure of the internship was well established and planned out. During my internship, I always had work to do but was never pressured or overworked during my role
The internship has been an excellent experience and learning opportunity. Through the year I have gained a real insight into a fast-paced and dynamic HR environment. Despite this, there were also a lot of issues through my placement which made the placement far less enjoyable. Lack of support during these times resulted in the placement and whole experience being less beneficial as I would have hoped.
I was fortunate to have 5 fellow interns on the same site as myself and lots of young people around which helped improve the office environment.I really enjoyed my internship at Eaton mainly because of the levels of responsibility I was given and also the people at my workplace which I enjoyed.
When I first came into the role as a HR and Finance intern I did not expect the level of responsibility I have had over the past year, especially from day one. There has been a constant level of work and as I have progressed through the year been given more and more lead with projects and tasks. I have constantly been learning new skills and have extremely enjoyed my time as part of Eaton.
I really enjoyed my internship at Eaton mainly because of the levels of responsibility I was given and also the people at my workplace. The people make such a difference. I was fortunate to have 5 fellow interns on the same site as myself and lots of young people around which helped improve the office environment.
I found that the internship was enjoyable for the most part. The people I worked with were warm and welcoming. I was also placed with several other interns at the site that I got along with which helped to increase my enjoyment. However, the site itself has quite a small number of people based their which sometimes made days boring as there were few people to interact with.
Good placement, chance to apply university skills and better understand the working environment. It has a lot of challenges and pushes you to enter into other avenues, I had chance to work within the purchasing department as well as operations. I had access to numerous resources, including Eaton university which helped during the year.
It was a really enjoyable placement as I was able to put what I had learnt at uni into practice. I was given real projects and the work I did made a real impact. I think this made the internship more enjoyable as you know that what you are doing will make a difference- it is really satisfying to see your designs come to life!
