The overall experience was very good. From the beginning there were induction events so you could meet all the interns across the UK programme and share your thoughts and experiences. Team building tasks and other activities were useful to get to know one another. The working learning curve was steep but rewarding and you can expect responsibility for your position from day one. Every now and then you would have a performance review that would keep you up to date on your progress.
I really enjoyed my internship at Eaton. I enjoyed the work, the people and the environment I was in. I was always busy, my manager always encouraged me to get involved in work outside of our department where possible to experience a broad range of functions of the business. It went really fast and I'm so glad that i completed it as it will help me so much in getting a graduate job after university.
Work was really enjoyable it helped me to decide what career I wanted. I enjoyed the community aspect of work, the various volunteering roles and giving back to the community. I feel I have grown as a person because of my experience there. There was a steep learning curve at the start as it was an industry I knew nothing about. However, as time went on I picked up the industry knowledge and the experience I will take with me to need jobs.
I worked at Eaton’s Mitcheldean office and it was a really good experience! Although challenging from the start, everyone at the office is great and welcoming. You get the right amount of help settling into the role. When working with other departments, you’re also given responsibility and help. The reason I haven’t given a 10/10 is due to myself ideally wanting more colleagues closer to my age. But, even still I was able to get on with everyone there and they have a really good office environment.
I throughly enjoyed my placement at Eaton. I have learned a lot about myself and my dat to day work ethic and has significantly prepared me for entering the world of work. I am so glad i chose to take an internship and in comparison to other placements that some of my peers had, i think i was very lucky to have gotten one with Eaton.
I was able to gain experience in mechanical engineering and leadership through a variety of different projects. I also learnt basic aspects of hardware which were relevant to the projects I was involved with. If there was an aspect of the role that I wanted to do more of or a skill I wanted to improve the management team were helpful in modifying my role to encompass this as best as they could. I was given good feedback through the placement too.
I was based in a operational role, focused on process improvement and manufacturing strategy. The job was very hands on, I was involved in numerous projects in which I had a good amount of input, so I felt my skills were utilised and my voice was heard. Additionally, the team I was based in consistently pushed me out of comfort zones which vastly improved my hard and soft skills. Overall, very enjoyable and would recommend.
I enjoyed everyday of the internship, for me this was an eye opener into what Hardware Engineering was. I was able to develop my skills as an engineer, leader and person. Everyday I was working on something that I was enjoying. The only "annoyance" for me was COVID. I was due to finish a project that I had started when I joined Eaton and unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it. The Intern training days were good, I got to know all of the interns at other sites and created myself a network.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Eaton, I learnt hands on experience in the supply chain environment and was welcomed by all members of staff. I would highly recommend a placement to anyone who is considering it. It is such an insightful and valuable experience.
Overall my placement was good because of the people I got to work with and the responsibility I had; however the corruption experienced by my manager and the leadership team made work a huge struggle and ultimately made myself and the other interns excited to leave.
The placement offered lots of opportunity to experience the industry side of accounting. I was able to complete various tasks and gained valuable experience I can use in the future. The location and size of the office was ok, it meant that there wasn’t many in the office at times which can make the day seem to last even longer.
From day one I was made to feel a part of the team. My roles and responsibilities were outlined in my two week handover period and I was given details of my standard work which I later used as guides. I found the whole experience very insightful and feel that I was able to develop much more as an individual due to the challenges faced and the projects I was given the opportunity to be a part of. I believe these have shaped the individual I am now. Overall, I would say I enjoyed my placement year with Eaton.
I am so glad I did a year in industry and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It gave me the chance to immerse myself fully in the industry and see how I cope with large workloads and a range of tasks, allowing me to see where my strengths and weaknesses lie. I feel 100 times more prepared and confident looking at graduate schemes now, based off of my placement experience.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my 13-month placement year at Eaton and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and experiences the internship has given me. From day one I was given a high level of responsibility and accountability, reporting directly to the Divisional Supply Chain Manager in the Head Office of a global division. The subject knowledge I have gained, the network and the relationships I have established and the personal skills I have developed over the year have been invaluable.
My placement at eatonneas thoroughly enjoyable, I learned an unbelievably great deal, the projects I worked on were very fulfilling and all my colleagues in the design office were great to work with and share stories with. Overall I couldn't have hoped for a better environment than what I was given.
