I loved this insight day at HSF because I got the opportunity to do things I haven’t done at different law firms, such as participate in a mock M and A transaction deal. My work shadowing trainee was also really lovely and sitting in meetings was very insightful into the firm.
I really enjoyed the insight scheme, it was very interactive and I enjoyed meeting different partners and trainees from different departments. It was interesting to learn more what each departments does throughout the day. The workshops were also very informative and I learnt a lot about commercial awareness and the importance of knowing your client. This is something I am excited to bring to interview.
The presentations as well as the workshops were well done: just enough of each were planned to keep everyone interested till the end of each day. All the staff were very nice and helpful and the networking opportunities were plentiful however the networking event on the first day was a bit cramped.
The insight was great. I sat in 2 seats which I had previously preferenced and was given meaningful work with constructive feedback available at all instances. A number of presentations and networking events were put on which allowed interactions with lawyers from across the firm. Food and drinks were also available to fuel discussion.
The vacation scheme was really enjoyable. The two weeks were really well structured, with lots of events throughout. Sitting in two different practice areas gave a really good insight into the types of work the firm do. Also, all the people were very welcoming and friendly. The social events were great fun too!
I really enjoyed the insight. I found it to be an informative and beneficial experience. I especially enjoyed the ADR and Corporate workshops because they were interactive and taught skills that will be useful for my future career. It was also great to learn more about the various practice areas of the firm.
I really enjoyed the insight, specifically the negotiation workshops. These aided me greatly in understanding the work of Herbert Smith Freehills. The networking event at Boundary was highly beneficial as it gave me the opportunity to talk to current Trainees and hear about their experiences at the firm, particularly in the firm's two main areas of Dispute Resolution and Corporate.
I thoroughly enjoyed the two-day event at Herbert Smith Freehills. It was a good mix of engaging presentations, dynamic workshops, an office tour, and work shadowing a trainee. There were plenty of opportunities to network with a broad range of trainees, associates, and partners, providing a great insight into the firm's culture.
- activities were well structured and laid out - mixture of talks and hands on workshops provided variety and kept the days engaging - lots of opportunities to ask questions in different environments and contexts was helpful - hands on ADR and corporate workshops in particular were very enjoyable: a structured task but we got to have input
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. Being able to experience people from a huge range of the different departments within a commercial law firm was amazing and is something that I have never been given the opportunity to do before. Additionally, I loved how genuine every I spoke to was about their experiences at HSF.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout the scheme. I found pretty much every moment of the 2 day programme enjoyable. All of the staff at Herbert Smith Freehills were pleasant and approachable, and the team who actually led the workshop were great, they made every workshop lively and interactive rather than us being bored.
It was a really enjoyable experience. Deeply insightful, and a fantastic opportunity to gain insight from those who work at the firm itself. I met inspiring partners who were willing to share their stories with us. Highlight of my day. It was definitely worth it, in more ways than one!
The insight scheme provided me with a deep evaluation of what it means to be a lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills. I enjoyed the interactive nature of the day, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. I found the panel talks very interesting and I felt that they had a lot of relevant information.
