I have experienced some challenges in my time at SAP however; on balance, I would say SAP provides a great opportunity for an internship/placement year. In this context, I have enjoyed it immensely and towards the end, I felt treated more like a long term employee than an intern. Although it must be earned, respect and responsibility are given to their interns and at no point did I have to do menial tasks just because I was an intern. There are still things that SAP need to improve when working with younger individuals.
I have enjoyed my placement thoroughly. Towards the end of my time at SAP I became less enthusiastic about the work I was doing. I feel like I enjoyed the job when it was a challenge, once it started becoming a routine it became a little less enjoyable. Overall I have had a great time and learnt a lot.
Overall it has been amazing.......the one big worry when starting a job as an intern is that you are going to spend 8 hours a day photocopying but at SAP you are seen as a full time employee and are given big responsibilities. I have been involved in different areas of the business which I didn't expect but it has been great to have exposure to these.
Having this internship with SAP was an amazing experience and has provided me an insight into the working world and also skills I will be taking into my final year into University. I have enjoyed my time and will always be grateful for this opportunity
