I worked within the Investment stream with Aon and found the overall experience to be well structured and enjoyable. The early careers team kept in touch throughout, organizing talks and presentations for us. The work I did with my team was the right blend of useful tasks and opportunities to learn. Despite the virtual nature of my internship, the team made every effort to ensure I could see the result of my work further up, which made the experience very satisfying.
Really enjoyed the internship, was very clear a lot of work had gone in to it to enable interns to gain the most out of the experience. Even virtual I felt I managed to get a good exposure to what the job requires and confirm my interest in the sector. Team were really welcoming and good mix of socials as well to get to know other interns from around the world and within the UK.
I was incredibly grateful that the internship went ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic. In general, it was clear that Aon had put a lot of thought and effort into the internship program. In what must be a very challenging time for the business with the upcoming merger in addition, I still got the impression that I was welcomed openly into the company. Meeting all the other interns was great and it was very useful getting to see what a future career at Aon may be like.
I thought it was a very well put together virtual internship. I felt valued and was given the opportunity to help my team on many different areas of work. The work was varied, challenging and also enjoyable, giving me the opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing ones. The Aon Intern project was also very enjoyable. We were split into teams of interns to complete a project, with a written report and presentation as the end goal.
I really enjoyed the placement. It was thoroughly interesting and they really made you feel at home. Aon continued to look out for their interns and made sure that they got lots of work to get on with so that they were not just sitting around doing nothing. It was particularly good that they carried on with the internship even with the whole pandemic going on. They gave us lots of support and i really enjoyed it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Aon. Despite the ongoing pandemic, a huge effort was made to intergrate all the interns into their new teams and provide them with a valuable expereince. I was able to get involved in work on live accounts as well as given the oppurtunity to speak to many different colleagues from across the firm. The work was challenging and varied, but not stressful to a point where it would be unenjoyable.
I would have enjoyed it more if it was in person because we would have been able to talk to others around the office during the day. But, in terms of working from home i enjoyed it as much as i could have as it was working from home. The work that i was completing as part of my team wasn't the most enjoyable as it was a little bit repetitive however the team made an extra effort to vary our work by setting up meeting with others also.
The virtual experience was well delivered and comprehensive. It definitely did not limit the opportunities that we had as much as I would have expected. The team I was working with made a real effort to welcome the interns and reach out to us individually to help, especially our buddies. The work was varied and often engaging, giving a good insight into the day to day work of a modern actuary in a large brokerage firm (both the tedious and more interesting aspects).
I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual internship. It was filled with interactions, engagement and extremely informative sessions and opportunities to learn more about Aon as a whole but also to meet new individuals within my team. I had the opportunity to work on many different tasks and my days were very different from one another. So many things were organised by the Early Careers team which allowed me to learn even more and discover different sides of the business. Sessions were held where individuals shared some of their personal stories, experiences and tips which I particularly liked as those sessions were very down to earth and interesting.
Whilst it could be quite boring working from home, I still enjoyed my work. Sometimes I didn't have much to do, which wasn't enjoyable, but when I did have work it was good. They also made effort to make it more social, for example we had a peer group who we could have weekly chats with and we had some social events like a quiz. On the whole, it was enjoyable given the circumstances.
The internship at Aon was quite enjoyable. All of the other employees were welcoming, and a broad variety of work was provided for me to complete. Working virtually provided an interesting challenge, but the company were very accomodating in making sure that we had all the neccessary equipment required to work from home. All the work was enjoyable, and gave me a good education on what different work is available at Aon and what different sectors can be worked within.
I really enjoyed this internship with Aon. It provided a proper insight into a line of work (actuary) I didn't initially know much about. Everyone that I spoke to was really helpful, engaging and delighted to teach. I got to do a wide variety of things and there was constant opportunity to learn through webinars and discussions. While a lot of the work itself was fairly routine, the exposure to specialist aspects of the business was fascinating.
I really enjoyed my internship, it was virtual so I was actually skeptical at first to see how engaging it would be, however Aon really tried to allow us enough opportunities to develop and grow our skill sets in the best way possible. There was often a lot of engaging webinar sessions with leaders throughout the organisation and we also got to speak with the Global CEO. Would definitely recommend this Summer Internship to those interested in getting in Insurance.
I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual experience and found all members of Aon to help with inductions and onboarding as well as answering any questions. There was exposure to many parts of Aon's business as well as a comprehensive review of insurance and the different lines of business Aon works with. Working virtually enabled me to network with different parts of the business and built my brand, as well as take advantage of Aon's online learning and resources.
This was a virtual internship. However, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Aon create a perfect mix of different types of work to keep you busy. You have your actual work in your team as well. You also work on an intern project with interns from around the country. They also put on lots of learning sessions, training sessions, and story hour sessions. Everyone I worked with was incredibly friendly and made you feel valued.
Working at Inpoint this summer was a great experience. I got to work on a variety of projects which enabled me to understand the industry and Aon to a greater extent. The team were really friendly and welcoming, as well as helpful when i was unsure about anything. A summer well spent!
I was able to engage with a variety of work during my time with Aon so there was never a dull day. I was also completing meaningful work meaning that I was fully immereced in the role and gained valuable experience whilst also feeling like I had made a contribution which was what I loved most about the role.
